Anita Raaj was upset after the film released. She claimed that David Dhawan narrated her role differently to her than what was shown in the film. David told her she would be a parallel lead to Amala. She ended up being a supporting actress. Then Anita Raaj said she can never forgive Rajendra Kumar for forcing her to shoot for the film during her 8 the month of pregnancy. She said she was taken to the hospital due to complications. Rajendra Kumar came to the hospital and said she had to shoot a day after tomorrow. After delivering her baby she still reported the sets to finish her work.
Before becoming director David Dhawan was an editor, he was working at Rajendra Kumar'a Dimple theatre and used to do editing other filmakers films like Love Story, Souten, Betaab, Naam etc. When he turned director, Rajendra Kumar( fresh from success of Naam ) asked David Dhawan to direct a film for him, starring his son Kumar Gaurav. So Jurrat was convinced.
