House of Saddam (2008)

Trivia

House of Saddam

Edit
The Egyptian actor "Amr Waked" got suspended temporary from the Egyptian actors syndicate as he's acting with an Israeli actor "Igal Naor".
Contrary to what's depicted in the series, Saddam supported uniting Iraq and Syria and negotiations continued after he took over. They were suspended indefinitely after the alleged discovery of a Syrian plot to overthrow him which he used as a pretext to purge the ruling Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party.
Shohreh Aghdashloo won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her work in the HBO original miniseries House of Saddam (2008).
At the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards, House of Saddam received 4 nominations.
Israel actors Yigal Naor (Saddam Hussein Abd Al-Majid Al-Tikriti) and Uri Gavriel (who plays Ali Hassan Al-Majid, Saddam's defense minister, interior minister and chief intelligence officer and who was his first tribal cousin) are both Mizrahi Jewish in real life; their parents were Jewish immigrants from Iraq.
