This series was originally conceived as a spin-off of Dante's Cove (2004). The original working title was "Dante's Lair".
A "season 2.5" was published online in the form of eight standalone, single-page comics created by comic artist Rosendo Brown. The stories were designed to fill in gaps in the plot following the season two finale.
Although set in the same universe and featuring some of its cast, the titular lair from this series is different from the one seen in the final season of Dante's Cove (2004).
Colton Ford, Dylan Vox and some of the supporting cast are adult gay film stars. Evan Stone is a straight adult film star.
