The bulldog shown in the movie is Adam Sandler's beloved pet, Motzaball.
Violet Nottingham (Teresa Palmer) is a spoof of Paris Hilton. Both are daughters of hotel owners who are always partying and being chased by the media and paparazzi on a daily basis.
According to Adam Sandler, Russell Brand's performance out of the main cast scored the highest among test audiences.
The first family film and only Disney film produced by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions. It received a PG rating, whereas all previous entries were PG-13 or R.
While Skeeter is going through the driving range, one of the golf balls that go by has the Happy Madison Productions logo on it.

Jackie Sandler, Sadie Sandler: The woman and the little girl in the Medieval story who pick up Adam Sandler's hat after his horse vanishes, are his wife Jackie and their daughter Sadie.
Rob Schneider: Appears as a thief in the "real-life" story and as a Native American horse trader in one of the Western story sequences. He says his signature line "I can do it" in the "story" scene rather then his usual line "you can do it".
