The American Dream

I expected another all-sex junker from B. Skow during his Vivid era, but "The American Dream" tries to tell a story, but very badly. Skow's narrative skills are wholly lacking.

An untalented leading man Tony Pounds stows away in a box in a plane's cargo hold, heading for America after his oversexed nature gets the better of him back in Austria. As usual, Skow has no budget for locations in this cheap opus.

There he makes it with diner waitress Monique Alexander after getting work as a dishwasher. He's just as oversexed on this side of the Atlantic as before, and writer-director Skow throws together his scenes with zero continuity or storytelling interest.

Wasted in supporting appearances are ultra-busty Daphne Rosen and anal queen Katja Kassin, as well as the usually wonderful Hillary Scott, tossed in for a superfluous final sex scene that is staged as sort of a TV infomercial. Embarrassingly, Skow has cast, but gives no screen credit, to Jay Huntington in a dual role, first as Tony's Austrian dad back home and then the unnamed porn star of the boastful infomercial, who gets to hump Hillary. We're not supposed to notice, as the careless auteur, whose initials are appropriately BS, gives little thought to his work. Show's cynical theme turns out to be that prostitution is the American dream, apparently extending to the role of lowly porn directors.
