I appreciated independent film making if adventurous people sharing their passions; I completely disagree about comments about political endeavor; they share some insights and reasons for us to be outside and enjoy what we have while trying to save it.
Amazing feat! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us; great photography!

To be fair, we acknowledge that there's probably no camera filter or film approach that can capture the life on a thru hike, especially for one like this. It's not the same as a grand free solo or any summit attempt. Honestly though, we (3 of us) couldn't stay awake. It was the very slow start and the narrators' unenthusiastic voice. A better element would be Shawn and Justin's relationship- the good, the bad, and the ugly; the training prior to the journey; and key lessons learned for others to know in any thru hike or winter survival.
I was honestly looking forward to this seemingly unique journey on a well beloved, and well documented trail. This was not that.
Starts off as a pbs special on the history of the sierra mountains and john muir, as though this is the most important and only part of the trail one should pay attention too. Throw in some environment concerns and Aboriginal history, and 16 minutes have gone by.
Poor narration that is right out of a 1980s nature documentary adds to the discomfort.

A simple story of two men who conquered the PCT for the first time during the winter months.
This is a story of a love of nature. A love of the journey and the hearts of two simple men who share a strong and respectful companionship for each other and the world around them.
Great film score, great footage, amazing captures, simple story telling. I wish more outdoor films were like this. I was very happy to finally ride along with an adventure that wasn't type A personalities with hired crews doing the hard work, millionaire bankers, investors. Two very normal people who choose to live simple but extraordinary lives traveling the world by foot.
If you love the outdoors, love the PCT and seek a peaceful respect and coexistence for nature this films is refreshing and fulfilling. If you're an adrenaline junkie it's probably not for you.

I was super excited to start watching this. Then it sorta became political. Talking about climate change and drought, then they started interviewing a local Native American for some reason. Native peoples have nothing to do with the PCT. I really wanted to watch this to see the scenery and hear the hikers day to day experiences.
