VI

'VI' (2019) I have to say, going in I really didn't know what to expect, but this really helped pull me back into the world of independent filmmaking. 'VI' is a slow-burn of raw emotion and dark tribulations, with a simple and yet gripping story to underline it all. I can tell when watching this, that this is a director with a vision. Everything from the technical aspects to the overall narrative really displays that those involved in this indeed have a passion for filmmaking. Not only is it original and unique, but it's intensely raw and emotional, in the most subtle of ways. The overall tone meshes gritty realism with dark and even psychedelia facets at times. The musical score is minimalistic and hauntingly eerie, which provides a nice ambience to the overall mood that the film really cultivates throughout. The camerawork is also impressive, and I was a fan of how it lingered on shots for longer amounts of time than we may be accustomed to, I thought it really added to the suspense and let the more intense and raw scenes really sink in with us and push us into borderline uncomfortable territory. However it's truly the dark, striking, and contemplative visuals that give 'VI' its personality. It's almost as if you're watching a bad-trip unfold right before your eyes, as our protagonist fights his demons, both mentally and almost literally at times. In the end, this was a surprising and satisfying watch, which honestly inspires me to write and get into the world of film myself. If you are looking to expand your movie palette and broaden your film-horizons, 'VI' is a solid watch. It's on right now and you should certainly check it out.

They did a great job on showing how real people go through on a day to day fighting with addiction.. I love that they showed the inside parts that nobody never sees on the outside, when it comes to fighting the other half (demon) when he's stays on you fighting you telling you it's the right thing to do when it's wrong.. I don't wanna say to much to give the movie away, just watch it it's a great movie

I haven't seen movie similar to this before but I would say this movie is quite an eye opener to me,with very minimal dialogues, sound effects, special effects, and actors.

The beauty of this movie is it's realistic and reflects with our real life scenarios. This movie is showing us about addictions and the struggles that we have to take to curb with it. We have to face our inner demon that will do whatever it can at all costs to persuade us into falling back to our old ways.

A recommended movie to watch if you would like to know what will a person with addiction goes through when they are trying to resist their urges to live the right way, the anxiety and depression that they need to deal with, and I believe many of us will find this movie relatable.

Movie starts off kind of slow but that's what gets you to wondering what's going to happen next? The music was so on point with every single part of the movie; it fit so well with the theme! It is a dark/ "horror" but more because of what is happening to the main character rather than the whole movie being a horror, which I really liked. The movie isn't for everyone, especially if you've never dealt with depression or anxiety (since that is what the movie is about), so some people won't feel it AND THATS OK. I think it was very relatable to anyone fighting their inner demon on trying to live right. Even if you've never been through any of that (like myself), I still FELT what the main character was going through and I thought that was pretty unique about the director; making you FEEL the emotions. Loved it. Can't wait to watch it again to see what little things I missed the first time!

Have you ever had a bad "trip". One you cant escape from? But one you're glad you had in the end, because you cameout ontop and better than ever. Then this movie is for you. The suspense and realistic horrorible psychological events which the main character endures are felt through the screen. The presence of a dark force taking over while you're in a state of vulnerability is shown bit by bit with a dark style that fits our comprehension as the viewer. The viewers obvisouly cannot feel what the man feels in the present, but the director and cinamatogropher do an excellent job to make sure we understand it with our eyes. The acting which the main character portrays hits you with raw emotion. As a man, as a person, as a brother to you and everyone else, I reccomend this movie because it not only shows something that is not available at first glance when you look at a person with depression, but it can help you understand people who suffer with depression. It is a very relatable movie which can spark something good in you in the end, wheather you are depressed or seeking ways to help and understand those who are. Enjoy ladies and gentlemen.
