It is President Baraka Antere's last day in office and the staff are preparing for his departure and the arrival of the new President Kajana Mdaa. Catherine Mutwa, the President's PA, visits the house and rattles the staff. Zandola arrives at the house for her first day at work.

President Kajana Mdaa and his family arrive at the house. Junior, the President's son, has a hard time adjusting to the stringent rules imposed by the Head of Security, Titus Juma. Eric worries about Catherine and her role in the administration. Junior and Zandola see each other for the first time and there is an obvious attraction.

Catherine and the President start to outline the nominees for the Cabinet Secretaries in the new government. Eric presents a list of possible nominees to the President as well, but this is rejected. Eric then decide to conspire against Kajana's plans.

The nomination process for the new Cabinet Secretaries has started. Catherine has invited schoolchildren for Eric to wrangle, leaving her and the President to watch the nominations. However, the results of the nomination are not what the President or Catherine expected.
