Live Earth (2007)

Trivia

Live Earth

Edit
In the Netherlands, they have held a concert called "Live Earth Alert" in Westerpark, Amsterdam - which was an addition to the "Live Earth" event (also held on the same day as "Live Earth"). The event covered the concert in Amsterdam, as well as the concerts from the main seven continents with Dutch correspondents reporting there. Also, some coverage from the Dutch concert were included in the official Live Earth streams and broadcast worldwide.
The concerts aimed to set a "green example" for other music events by using measures such as eco-friendly electricity, sustainable lighting and carbon-neutral travel.
Madonna wrote a song, "Hey You", especially for the event.
The event was broadcast in 120 countries.
The BBC was censured by media watchdog Ofcom after transmitting six instances of bad language from performers during the concert at Wembley Stadium. The usually middle-of-the-road singer Phil Collins surprised many (including BBC presenter Jonathan Ross) when he kicked off the foul language by substituting the line "and though she will fuck up your life" for "and though she will mess up your life" while performing the 1986 Genesis hit single "Invisible Touch".
