Star Wars TV shows recreate iconic movie moments with new context, maintaining a cinematic quality on the small screen. Characters from the movies reappear in TV shows, offering the chance to recreate significant scenes in animation. Recurring themes in the Star Wars TV shows tie back to the original movies, providing new depth to familiar narratives.
Star Wars continues to expand on the small screen through a variety of TV shows, many of which include moments that feel like the movies that inspired them. George Lucas drew inspiration from adventure serials when creating the Star Wars movies, giving each film an opening crawl and including "Episode" in the title. This means Star Wars is perfectly suited for television, which can tell smaller one-off stories or create an arc that spans several episodes, just like Lucas did with his movies.
Even so, Star Wars will always be a movie franchise at its core,...

The ongoing Motörhead live recording series, The Löst Tapes, is being collected on a new eight-disc CD box set arriving February 23rd. In addition, a fifth volume in the series, Live at Donington Download Fest ’08, has been announced as part the box set and as a standalone vinyl release.
The Motörhead camp launched The Löst Tapes series in 2021, restoring previously unreleased Motörhead concert recordings sourced from cassette tapes discovered in the archives of the late Lemmy Kilmister.
“[Cassettes] were a standard part of every tour … Motörhead were certainly no exception, recording show after show,” read the press release for the box set. “They contain gold, pure aural gold, and had for many years sat hundreds of feet underground in a small cave Lemmy owned, guarded by small, hairy centurions in Roman armor with small spears and bad attitudes. Cirith Ungol have announced their sixth studio album, Dark Parade, arriving October 20th via Metal Blade. Lead single and album opener “Velocity (S.E.P.)” can be heard now.
The Cali vets are cult heroes among ’80s metal circles, and “Velocity (S.E.P.)” harnesses the band’s definitive power metal sound. Spiraling leads and melodic riffs lay the foundation, while frontman Tim Baker’s vocals echo ominously throughout all corners of the mix. It’s a surefire ripper with an air of evil, and as guitarist Jimmy Barraza explained, there are some specific musical quirks under the hood that are new to the Cirith Ungol formula.
“While talking with Tim and [drummer] Rob [Garven] about what kind of song was needed, a decision was made to stop doing the galloping chugs, as done many times on previous albums, and start doing down-picking chugs while keeping some sort of tie to the Cirith Ungol sound,...

It was late at night when I got to view Stay Out Stay Alive (2019) after a day of work. Rain was falling outside in a steady stream of tears from heaven and forest fire prevention. Reality television often puts ‘black ants’ and ‘red ants’ together to make what they think is a program that people will watch. A few of the human race like to see people fail in getting what they want or think they should have. What if that failure was the death of someone you had known for years? The old story of receiving a box with a push button in the post with instructions to push it and someone dies that is bothering you in your life. Would you do it? Well, these are the questions raised by Stay Out Stay Alive (2019).

When Star Wars gets its character endings right, they're truly powerful - but sometimes it's clear hero and villain alike deserved a different date. George Lucas launched Star Wars back in 1977, and from the outset it's been clear this saga involved endings as well as beginnings. The trick, of course, is handling those endings well; performing them in a manner that makes them powerful and evocative, memorable and inspirational.
The heroes of Star Wars tend to be self-sacrificial in nature, and that's a deliberate decision on Lucas' part; a willingness to sacrifice for the sake of others is integral to the light side of the Force. There's a beautiful strand of redemption woven into the narrative, too, typified by Darth Vader but shown so many times since. And yet, even Lucas hasn't always been perfect when it comes to handling character endings, and other writers have struggled as well. Here...

Going to an Elton John concert is an experience — fans eagerly play the air piano, parents film the show with their cellphones like feverish teenagers, and attendees wear sequined blazers, studded rhinestone glasses and fuzzy scarves to match the style of the Rocket Man.
All this was captured in Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium, which aired live on Disney+ on Nov. 20. The concert took place 47 years after John’s historic 1975 performance at the Los Angeles ballpark that cemented his superstar status.
“The love from the audience, the kindness, the generosity, the loyalty — it’s been like one big party,” John says of the stop on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which wraps July 8 in Stockholm. “It’s like the end of an era, and it’s a happy end to an era.”

Most of the world knows Mark Hamill by sight. He played Luke Skywalker in the "Star Wars" franchise, an acting gig that has spanned over four decades. You might even have an action figure of him in your house right now. In addition, Hamill has slayed audiences with his voice work as the Joker in Batman TV shows, animated projects, and video games since 1992. Hamill's voice work (including his insanely accurate impression of "Star Wars" co-star Harrison Ford) is incredible, and while he won a Daytime Emmy for his role in "Elena of Avalor," he was never even nominated for the Joker. That's a crime, and it's unlikely to happen now that his Batman counterpart Kevin Conroy has died.
One job he did get a Daytime Emmy nomination for was voicing Darth Bane in season 6, episode 13 of the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," entitled "Sacrifice." However, according to...

In the reflected light of Elton John’s diamond-studded lapels, aided by the hundreds of flashing pairs of Elton specs out in the arena, the end of the road – yellow brick, naturally – is in sight. We’ve fallen for the arena-filling farewell tour scam so often now that it’s an industry joke – Roger Waters is currently on what’s nudgingly billed as his first. But five years and almost 300 shows into Elton John’s globe straddling long goodbye – Farewell Yellow Brick Road, the highest-grossing tour in history – it’s hard to doubt Sir Reg’s sincerity.

An immensely ominous air is established during the opening credits of Sacrifice as multicoloured smoke plumes dissipate against a black backdrop, evoking an eerie Argento ghost train vibe. When coupled with Tom Linden’s foreboding score, Sacrifice looked set to turn into a cracking skull-rattler from the outset and a cut above most other Dtv horrors.
Sadly though, despite this atmosphere remaining for most of its duration, this second feature from the team behind decent British horror Charismata, stammers from the midpoint on due to a clunky script, stiff dialogue and mostly forgettable characters.
Inspired by short story “Men of the Cloth” by Paul Kane and the works of Hp Lovecraft, the script tells the tale of thirty-somethings Isaac Pickman (Ludovic Hughes) and his pregnant wife Emma (Sophie Stevens), who travel to a remote Norwegian village from America to sell a family home which Isaac inherited after the death of his mother.
