An urban legend . And a gesture defining something who can be defined as selfishness. Or deep fear. A nice horror about love and about a form of deep weekness. Powerfull, well constructed, giving more than thrill. So, just good one.

I loved the visuals, from the cinematography to the impeccable scenario, the simple (but effective) camera movements, and even the "creature" that matches the subtle tone instead of exaggerated visuals. Unfortunately, the acting is below average and the dialogues are just terrible. Thankfully though, the direction knows not to resort to cheap jumps scares or loud noises, which definitely keeps the story on a positive result.

Wicken belongs to the subgenre of horror stories where a curse must be passed on to someone else before it gets you. Popular films in this category include The Ring, It Follows, and Drag Me to Hell. In this case, the curse-a file attached to an email-must be passed on to someone you love, and there doesn't seem to be much time to do it.

Although this short film doesn't bring anything particularly new to the genre, it's a well-executed and solid example. The acting is quite good, especially from the main character, and the film manages to deliver some chills, even if you can predict what's going to happen.
