I was a bit disappointed when I saw this in relation to the original from 1973. I do not think it was wise to have actors who were so different from the original. The humor was not quite there either. Maybe it would have been best if the country of origin had made this remake in English language?
There is in a way so much that is missing, that I do not think this will be a Christmas classic: p Sad since this could have been so much more: p.

Unfortunately this movie adds nothing to the original except a few forced modern additions like a kiss between two men and an black and white moral which turns out to not really be that modern or feminist after all. Imagine managing to make the 2021 female character less feminist than the original while trying to do the opposite? Little to no character development, bland soundtrack and costumes, the humor from the original is nowhere to be found.
The movie is despite this overall probably an enjoyable movie for kids.

What a mess, the prince' best buddies kissing, Cinderella and prince not kissing. Prince adopted or mommy Queen had an affair..? Prince looks nothing like his parents and I find it hard to believe they raised such a moron. Cinderella and prince seemed to have nothing in common except horse racing. Nice horses and nice scenery, and the cruel stepmother (Ellen D. P) did a good job.
In the original it was easy enough to see why the Prince would want Cinderella, but why she would be into him remained a mystery, at least to me. In this one they finally seem more balanced - she's toned down to be a bit less brilliant and quick, which helps, and they have a dynamic it's possible to believe in. They seem to truly like each other, which I never got from the first version.
I also love how this tough girl is still so utterly terrified by her step mother, which is very real, and the take on the stepsister as more trying to please her mother than anything else.
For me this hits home in a way the older version never did. That said, it's a movie made for kids first and the rest of us after, and as an adult I am trying to respect that lovely as this is, I am not the target audience for this, and that's okay. I still enjoyed it a lot.

I found this to be a alright adaptation of the story and adds little new with it. The story is your standard Cinderella version with a couple of differences to it. I do like how active Cinderella is with her horseback riding and knowing how to a bow. But it felt the movie could have given more development to her because she lacks any development and isn't that interesting. Even the romance between her and the prince isn't fully flesh out and doesn't have a chemistry between them. Speaking of the prince, he's pretty bland with little to offer of him and plays the standard prince you see in any adaptation. As for the stepmother, she mostly plays the typical stepmother you see in any adaptation and adds nothing to her. One thing that is different is that there's no fairy godmother in the adaptation, which is fine because it try something new with the source material. But how Cinderella got her wishes feels like a plot connivence when it happened.
One big positive is that the location and cinematography looks beautiful and amazing on the job the filmmakers put into the movie. It really looks gorgeous with it being in a snowy environment that gives some atmosphere to the movie and the different shots it presented here. Even the set design looks great inside current location of the movie like the castle looks great. I also like the music and dance sequence the movie presented since it executed pretty well.
The three wishes I wish to improve is to give the characters more development to them, have a better chemistry between Cinderella and the prince, and have the movie build with its new ideas.
