I laugh out loud several times watching this. It has to be scripted, right? But, Goldblum seems to improvise through most of it. Thank you, sir for your creativity.
This show isn't bad, it's just very average.
As a Jeff Goldblum fan I expected a clever, deep and quirky look at topics, instead I got a quirky look into topics with a bit of added quirkiness.
This is not a deep dive, focussing primarily on closeups of Jeff Goldblum touching his and other people's faces. The producers don't want anything to distract from his strangeness and as a result, even that strangeness comes across as forced and contrived.
It's not that the show is unwatchable, it's just so superficial it is hard to really recommend it. Watch one episode and you've watched them all.
Jeff is as charming as ever, and the topics he goes over in every episode are so unique. Sneakers, ice cream, basic stuff, but got a whole universe behind them. Everything intertwined with Goldblum's amazing sense of humour and charisma.
I've always loved Jeff Goldblum's quirky sense of humor and he does a great job on this show. It might sound like just another show about random stuff but the way he hosts it and talks to people is really well done. I found myself actually interested in sneakers (which I'm not, normally) and I especially enjoyed the tattoo episode.Jeff is just so charming and he makes anything seem interesting. He also engaged with people; he was playing basketball in the sneaker episode, rowing an outrigger in Hawaii and actually doing part of a tattoo in the tattoo episode. His enthusiasm is contagious, and makes it all more interesting. I'm looking forward to future episodes.
It is a fun show to watch, very entertaining, but the title IMHO is incorrect. The show should be called 'The United States According the Jeff Goldblum'. The episodes, are all centered around what the topic implicates in the US and not worldwide. E.g. when I think of coffee, the first thing that comes to mind, is Italian, French or Austrian coffee culture, but not coffee made by cowboys. Don't get me wrong, as stated above I found all episodes amusing but the title just does not seem right.

- TriviaIn an interview, Goldblum was asked what he thinks the lesson of the show is. His reply: "you have to keep learning. The reason time seems to go so slowly when you're young is because of a strange makeup of our brains whereby if we're learning a lot every day, it slows time down. Whereas if you're going through the motions or you're learning less, time speeds up on you. So be present, be spontaneous. Enjoy the moment, enjoy yourself, and learn."
