The show, as some have mentioned is a lot like monster quest but with better production value and a more interesting way of telling the story. There are also some things I each episode I hadn't previously known (and I've watched every cryptid series I can get my hands on).
There are a few forced moments when they head out on expeditions to find evidence but generally it is well done and very entertaining.

I like this show as a comedy, not an investigative documentary. How about having some intellectual experts once in a while discuss what they actually KNOW to be true. Video or photo evidence always fuzzy: is it a vampire dog or rabid coyote with mange? Who knows, but guessing the later. What qualifications do you need to be a cryptozoologist? Does Harvard have a curriculum?

With all the sightings & other cryptid lore, there's a plethora of material to make new shows for future seasons. The format is interesting & the cgi is really good! I dig the narrator too...
It's a stretch to call some of these creatures, monsters. Though finding huge fish, could be called Monster catch, Lol! I wish they could find some "new" creatures to investigate. The episode on huge Catfish,Gar, & Pike needs more investigating. Sure, they caught some big Catfish in the Amazon River. Cambodian, & Vietnam's Catfish blow my mind! 600 lbs??!! There are also big Catfish here in the Missouri Ozarks. My Pop had been building the generators to the Truman Dam in Warsaw, Missouri. The dam was new in the late 70's, on the Osage River. The divers inspecting the dam would not dive anymore, when a one of them had been grabbed, & shoved under a rock shelf by a huge Catfish. Injured his shoulder. Pop had recounted this in detail thru the years. There are quite a few Catfish that weigh 100 + pounds & a foot between the eyes, in the waters of the Osage River,& the Lake of the Ozarks. We've had quite a few people pictured with their huge catches in the local papers. The Gar are huge also. We also hear of "Bigfoot" sightings in the Ozarks thru the years. The hill people call him "the Blue Man", or
" MoMo". There was stories of one that had been treed. The men thought it was some pitiful scared man up in the tree. They held a lamp up & discovered it had hair like a bear, but a face like man. We used to swim in Deer Creek. It was spring fed. Just as clear, & beautiful! My mother had found a giant footprint in the mud next to the waters edge one day. It was huge. She wouldn't go alone anymore! It's weird you know, when people have the feeling they are being watched. Had that feeling a few times. I've been alone at the creek enjoying the rustle of the cotton woods, & the trickling of the creek. I would swear I was being watched
You know, I have Never heard of a "Bigfoot" that has tried to harm a human. If they are real, I pray humans don't harm them. Food for thought,..We humans are the most dangerous creatures on the earth. Overall, I really enjoyed this program.
The Travel Channel has done it again with a great series this one if you like the paranormal and the unknown then "In Search of Monsters" is a must watch! Each episode has a different monster featured with past stories of actual account sightings and interviews with real witnesses. Plus the footage is interesting and eye opening and the episodes provide historical background info on each creature as the experts give their theories and take on how the monsters came about. Plus the show does show actual scientific evidence to prove that these actual monsters do roam and hide among us! This is a creature fans dream series as it features Bigfoot, Loch Ness, Monster, Mothman, Yeti, Wendigo, and other strange creatures from around the U.S. and the world great well done interesting series!
