Some problem with the direction was the main thing. I like the subject a lot because its about a patriot which blended with his social commitments, family attachment and romance but instead the problem is the lack of arrangements of all these factors. Cinematography and editing just not cross the level along with direction and the script didn't have enough peculiarity along the way because it was written by P Balachandran. I expected lot from him but he disappointed me. Edakkad Battalion 06 was not a good experience for me actually.

By the time I confirmed for myself whether the film is about a patriot (Tovino Thomas) who is ready to give his life for his country's defense or the resilient drug menace that is currently hampering interiors of the Indian state of Kerala, the end credits of Edakkad Battalion 06 began to roll after ending its drama with a cliched epilogue and footage from the real-life events. TN.

I missed to remember the name of the director and story writer when the title cards were running. But at the end of the movie I was so impressed that I wanted to know their names along with the name of the cameraman for his excellent cinematography.
Edakaad Battalion 06 is a feel good movie throughout except for the last 20 minutes or so where the director made me choke with the elaborate real mourning by the army for their brave soldier. These scenes were captured so authentically that I think this is the first time in Indian cinema a director did some real research about how the army delivers its respect to their departed martyr and the reaction of the family members and friends. So well executed scene with each and every character does justice to their role by exibiting the most natural acting. Tovino and all the other characters perfectly suite their roles with natural emotions. The faith shown by the lovers despite rumers and the Visit of the heroine to Kashmir is so beautifully captured. It seems that the director was a little confused to decide where to end the movie and he was keep on adding scene after scenes when the original story ends at least 10 minutes ahead of the real ending. These are miner mistakes and the total experience was satisfaction of seeing a good movie. I certainly recommend Edakaad Battalian 06 for everyone. -jay

This is a perfect movie, that shows the life of a soldier. Its a lesson for major Ravi and mohanlal to understand how to take a soldier movie.Direction was really awesome, only some issues in stories and below average acting of actress is the only drawback. Overall it's a good movie.

I really enjoyed watching this movie, because it gives a lot of messages to our new generation. Mainly the movie talks about the life of a soldier and his full commitment towards the country. The character Shafeeq (tovino) shows that a soldier should be 100% dedicated in protecting the lives of the people in the country. He also tells us to fight against drugs and there by saving people who are addicted to it. So this movie is also a mind changer by giving a best example of young people who are highly addicted to drugs. "Say no to drugs". Thank you.
