Pondicherry

A surprisingly fresh movie with a beautiful script which it revolves around. Never felt bored or like taking a break while I watched this one. Marathi movie producers should often make such movies than the usual masala ones.

If you like open-ended movies (eg. A Separation, Andhadhun etc.) where the movie-viewer can decide what happens after the end and the story teller (director) does not show the end as s/he wants to convey, then Pondicherry is for you. If you like to watch drama, nuances of relationships, good story-telling, use of themes in the story-telling, then Pondicherry is for you. If you like to see movies having no left-out threads in the story-telling, then Pondicherry is for you.

If you love savouring the visuals of well-crafted cinematography, then Pondicherry is for you. Pondicherry is a Marathi film that provokes your thinking for a long time when you return from the cinema hall. The kind of effort put in by the writers, the cinematographer is worth giving them multiple pats on their backs for each frame!

'Pondy is a home to everybody'. Anybody who cannot correlate to the roles of actors, storyline will be a greatly mesmerised by the unfolding of the story. Those who can correlate even a bit with the story, will be happy to see a ray of reflection. Those who can largely correlate will come back with moist eyes and thoughts will linger definitely for a while!

Thanks a ton to Sachin Kundalkar and team, the writers' team, Milind Jog and team, Sai Tamhankar, Amruta Khanwilkar, Vaibhav Tattvawadi, Tanmay Kulkarni and the rest of the cast for presenting a platter of exhilarating acting experience, and everybody who has contributed in making this movie!!!

Pondicherry has a story which is really makes you think about different perspective of life, different perception of marriage and having children. It's cinematography, locations, dialogues are very good. Movie has a fresh look which makes you feel good!!

Entire movie is tightly roaming around the story. No time pass or useless scenes.

It has comedy, romance, seriousness, hope and facts.

Most important all actors acted very well! Specially, In each of the Project Sai Tamhankar is becoming better and better actress and now as a viewer we can see that she has a really good sense of selecting movies. She has proven herself in many roles having different shades!!

I must say, Sai Tamhankar is a fine actor, but she doesn't really try to explore her hidden talent every time. She used to prefer glamorous roles earlier, but I am happy to see her coming out of that shell. With Hunterrr, she took a challenging and derogatory role, but carried it superbly. After that, she kept trying new genres and shades, with Pondicherry adding one more attempt to the list. She goes on to channel another non-glamorous character (she couldn't help wearing those glamorous dresses somehow) in this film and delivers a fine performance. Rohan is charming, muscular, but a confused fella, and Vibhav Tattwawadi suits the body and soul of his character. Unlike her previous roles, Amruta Khanvilkar plays a tense woman here, and despite that glowing face, she handles the tension on the surface very well. The supporting cast is good, with the hilarious Tanmay Kulkarni running far ahead of the others.
