I liked the show very much except I am unable to see the show to the end as the sub titled shows seem to end around episode 50. I was watching it through youtube. However the show itself is very sweet and I enjoyed the acting as it was not meant to be an Action show but a Love story. On that basis it achieved it's goals.

Great acting by leads along with a strong supporting cast and a well written storyline makes this drama worthy of its 2020 International Emmy nomination. Yes, it has similarities to other fantasy dramas, namely Eternal Love: Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, but I think the story and lead performances are both better in this drama.
Chang Chen as God of War is exceptional. NiNi is great as usual (check out Rise of the Phoenixes if you haven't already!). The story moves effortlessly from one world and one lifetime to the next, keeping audiences engaged. Highly recommend!

Great main male and female leads! Acting from those two really made this series so enjoyable. After watching I am a big fan of Ni Ni and Chang Chen. Chang Chen as God of War was perfect. So much charisma. I normally dislike the cliche cute, innocent, kind female leads in Asian dramas but Ni Ni made her character so believable. Can't help caring for her as Jiuchen does. I could not finish very popular ten miles peach blossom (although the male lead is good but not as good as Chang Chen to me in that series. I found the supporting characters annoying and the female lead/character also not as good) but love this one. Better supporting cast and stories as well. Can understand antagonists' motivations more, not just pure evil. If you don't know much about Asian mythology it may be a bit confusing story wise and who's who. Just minus one star since I felt the pacing could be slightly better. A little draggy in the middle then felt a little rushed at the end.

If you like character development and a slow-building love story, than you'll absolutely love this show. Personally, I loved it so much that I've seen all 60 episodes in just 3 days, despite the fact that I started watching the show with the assumption that "I will most definitely get bored by it".
There were a few things I didn't like, such as the costumes and make-up of some the secondary characters (namely the old guys). Plus, some special effects could have been done better given today's expectations. But the overall story was so good that it simply eclipsed any minor issues the show has.
There are also plot twists, which personally I found predictable, but I didn't mind that at all because they were the logical conclusion of a longer story development. And having another twist would have been poor taste on the writer's part.
Btw, if you expect non-stop action on the length of just a few episodes, then you'd better orient yourself to something another show cause this ain't for you.
I'm not really sure why it's rated below 8.0, but this show deserves at least 8.5.

Firstly, clarify that "Love and Destiny" never copies from any other drama, Chinese Mythlogy is a large background and system, and can generate a lot of ART styles and stories.
"Love and Destiny" is an orginial created drama, sourced from Chinese Mythology in ancient times, and its drama plot, lines and values are really full of positive attitude, comparing to such many other myth drama, it spread justice and beautiful willings and creature's right for life.
2ndly, As per those actors and actress in this drama, all of them are really awesome in this drama, not only the leading ones.
They do not only have beautiful faces, they do understand and melt into this drama world and the roles.
3rdly, for the main actor and actress (Chang Chen and Ni Ni) their performance with layers, further and further with naturals and logical.
And their love does trully touch me, no 3rd one, no ridiculous and always focusing.
