Now THIS is how you start off a new season!

Wow, excellent start to season 2! Now THIS is how you start off a new season. It was a nice surprise to see Mark Cuban guest star. I hope they continue this trend with the occasional celebrity as a surprise guest. This season premier was a very unique and thrilling episode. The writers now have a challenge to one-up this series premier, and based on how this show has been improving, I am confident they will do so. It's a well deserved 10/10 from me!

    Well done

The loss of a main character was glossed over but other than that, I can't see they did anything wrong with this first episode. Nathan, whoever your personal trainer is needs a bonus. You look jacked, son. And the look on your face before broken window scene? Badass mothertrucker.

    Doesn't disappoint

    This was my favourite new show last year and this second season premiere didn't disappoint. Great cast (lots of Canadian talent: Nathan Fillion🇨🇦, Melissa O'Neill🇨🇦, Shawn Ashmore🇨🇦. I hope Sarah Shahi moves from guest star to series regular). Great writing. Great character arcs. Definitely maintaining my 9 (superb) out of 10 rating. {Police Drama}

    Bad directed first eps

This is an example for real bad directing and editing of an episode of a very promising tv series! They should do better!

    The Loss

Tim is escorted in an ambulance by the police, but when they reach the hospital, there is a terrorist waiting for them. Talia leaves LAPD to join ATF and Nolan is renovating a house of his own. Sgt. Grey extends the training period of West since he had a low grade in the exam.

"Impact" is an episode of "The Rookie" with the loss of the great and strong character performed by Afton Willianson (Talia Bishop). After losing the female captain, now Talia leaves the show. Nolan moved from the house of his friend Ben and now is living in his own house. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "O Impacto" ("The Impact")

    • Trivia
John Nolan's training officer Talia Bishop (Afton Williamson) does not return for the second season due to the allegations made by the actress to the showrunners in regards to racism, bullying and also sexual assault she experienced on set throughout the first season. She was offered the chance to continue her characters role in the second season, however she turned this down citing her dissatisfaction with the lack of consideration demonstrated by the showrunner in regards to her allegations.
    • Goofs
When the officers are being shot at at the hospital, Lopez calls for backup, but instead of saying 7 Adam 7, which is the call sign for her and West, she says 7 Adam 15, which is Nolan's call sign.
    • Quotes

John Nolan: I mean the job. My first six months have been a lot to process. It's like a raw nerve. "All the feelings", as my son's fond of saying. Does that get easier?

Sergeant Wade Grey: Look, a cop has a decision to make in the first few years. "How much can I handle?" How much I'm gonna let the job affect me. "If I had an input control, where would I set it to?" Some cops set it to 7. They take a lot in. Some set it to 3. Hell, some set it to zero.

John Nolan: Anybody keep it at 10?

Sergeant Wade Grey: Can't be done. Let me see your hand. You've been demoing your house for about a week, and you already got calluses growing. Your body does that to protect itself. Your mind does the same thing, whether you want it to or not.
