This immediately brought the nostalgia of Hollow Knight, but at the same time it's fresh and new in all the right ways. I love the color! The art is gorgeous, the characters are amazing (I love the singing and the voices), the soundtrack is excellent, and every little detail makes the world feel alive.
The new mechanics took me a little while to get used to. I wasn't sure of the new down dash at first but I was happy with it when I got used to it. Silksong feels both easier and harder than HK in different ways. The double damage is a bit brutal but it's easier to get around the place too.
So far I'm finding the exploration super rewarding. It's giving me the classic "one more area before I quit" feeling.
I'm just so happy it's out. Well done Team Cherry, you really did it again!
Ps. Thank you for making it so affordable! This game was worth a ton but you made it so accessible to everyone.

Compared to the first Hollow Knight, Silksong is MUCH bigger and more complex, there are loads of areas, movesets, tools, enemies, etc. And that variety, plus the absolutely incredible visuals and excellent movement, is this game's strong suit.
However, the most important part this game has to get right are the boss fights, and while it does get them right for the most part, sometimes even more so than the original Hollow Knight, it has some balancing issues. The biggest one is the runbacks, there are multiple instances where you need to run a long distance from a checkpoint to a boss to try it again, which makes it way too easy to get hit by enemies in the way to the boss, making you retry it with less health than optimal, and also making retrying the boss incredibly tedious at times. There is also an issue with the balance with boss difficulty. Some late game bosses can easily be done within the first couple of tries while some early bosses can take you 30-60 minutes minimum. Another balancing issue is the platforming and enemy movement patterns, there are so many complicated areas in this game that, even with all the mobility options you have, it gets to a point where having to put in so much effort in each encounter starts to wear you out mentally.
When it comes to the story, I'd say its on par with the original, which is great. Obviously you won't understand everything as there is a lot of hidden and cryptic lore, but there is enough for you to get the core of it.
Overall, I enjoyed my time with Silksong, sometimes even more than with Hollow Knight, but at times it definitely feels like a love-hate situation due to it being so much more difficult than the original, which ends up being a bad thing and a good thing, because, after spending hours trying to beat a boss and failing, it always feels incredibly relieving when you finally beat it.

This game is Amazing... But in a different way than the first game. This game was outstanding in almost every way. Throughout most of my play though I have only ran into a one thing that tho was not terrible, i just liked how they did it in the first game more. One of my gripes is the use of the 2 mask damage enemy's much more and in turn it feels like you are frequently losing a mask worth of healing (because you can only heal 3 at a time). I have absolutely loved this game so far and think it is truly a masterpiece. Team Cherry are really brilliant!!!!! If I could give it a specific rating I would say 9.4 / 10. It's got things that I think in time will become the normal but I still have to get used to.
I loved Hollow Knight, I wasn't expecting anything from that game and it surprised me, I developed an incredible personal attachment to it... With this game, I was expecting a lot. After so much time, it was inevitable for my expectations to be so, so high. In a way, I was afraid of having such high expectations and that the game would be good, but not live up to them. It surpassed them... it's everything I hoped for and much more. It's truly a remarkable improvement in EVERY aspect, you can clearly see the experience William and Ari have gained over time. On top of that, it's evident that this time they had more resources... Congratulations to Team Cherry, they delivered what was expected and even offered their product at a much lower price than average. Nothing more to say but congratulations and thank you.

I Love Hollow Knight Silksong. Absolutely Great Game, Good Game Mechanics, Hard Bosses, Good Exploration, The Story, Lore And The Gun. So Good Like The Game Is Just So We'll Made. I Get Why Team Cherry Waited So Long To Release The Game. They Wanted It To Be A Well Thought Masterpiece And It Is So Amazing. A Masterpiece I Tell You.

Hornet was captured, and taken to a Citadel for reasons unknown to her. Once she escapes her captors, she could have left these lands of Pilgrims.. but she won't hide, and won't be satisfied until she's dealt with whoever orchestrated her abduction.
The 2025 release that puts the gaming industry to shame! From excessive details (many even hidden in a way that some will never see) and incredible enemy variety (that puts Breath of the Wild to shame), beautiful designs and visuals, to a surprisingly interesting narrative culminating in one memorable journey!
If perfection could be attained (content, quality, price), some would say Silksong is the game closest to it.. those that are able to complete it, that is.

The game has a LOOT of content and a lot of exploration and good challenging bosses and levels and good design and breath taking moments especially if u try multiple endings and choices and try quest lines and literally own the game in every aspect . Goated gameplay , exactly what someone wouldve wanted in the sequel , not repetetive but new and kept the atmo we loved about hollow knight , whoever says that the game is bad has elite skill issue and just wants to hate it the game is absolutely amazing even tho i used to hate hollow knight because it was literally a maze but i realized i could go one way and finish it and go to the other , goated.
I've played a lot of different games from different creators. But i've rarely seen so much love and care put into a game. The gameplay is not for the weak. But it is o so worth it. The music makes it an absolute masterpiece. Thank you for the amazing experience it has brought so far. An amazing sequel to the perfect hollow knight.

Silksong is finally here and it felt like the stores started sweating right away. That's how you launch a game in 2025. And the price? 20 $! No cash-grab crap, no season-pass nonsense, just fair: "Here, take it and have fun." They skipped the usual industry circus completely. Wow.
After a good 10 hours I can say: this thing slaps. If you loved Hollow Knight, you're getting the same DNA, just smoother and deeper. Movement feels buttery; once dash and sprint are in, the fun begins: dash attack launches you up, into the angled down-needle, then chain into a side stab, there's a ton of skill expression here.
The bosses are inventive, the areas are atmospheric and varied, the characters are charming, and the sound design hits hard. It's exactly more of the good stuff, without the copy-paste stink.
My only complaint at the moment is still the pogo. Instead of the classic straight-down, it's angled. In sections like the Far Fields (the ones with the red flowers) it feels really fiddly. You hit the hitbox but don't bounce cleanly, drift off and eat damage. Every now and then, though, you pull off some sick strings: pogo -> dash cancel -> next mid-air pogo, and it looks fantastic. Might just be familiarity, but for now it's causing most of my deaths.
At $20 it's an easy recommendation. Fair price, tight gameplay, top-tier presentation. Clear 9/10 for me, with the footnote that the angled pogo either needs a bit of polish, or I just need more time with it.

It's clearly one of the best 2D I have ever played after Hollow Knight I thought they can't improve much but they did 100%
The bosses the worldbuilding is so beautiful that I can't even think about a negative point. The only problem that the most people have is the difficulty but in my opinion the difficulty is pretty good because if you don't have much difficulty you can basically run through the game without anything challenging and it wouldn't be a soulsgame anymore... I know that my people see this different but if you have played Hollow Knight you maybe understand my opinion.

Hollow knight: Silksong is a game that shaked the industry when it first came out, buy a low price of 20 euros, it has given me emotions, fun and challenge.
The movement system is probably the best I have ever got my hands on, even better than Hollow Knight original game. If I should make any critique about this game, is just that the bosses aren't as iconic as the first game, but I hope it will be different if Silksong will get a DLC similar to the Godmaster from the original Hollow Knight.
Overall, just play this game even if it is hard, you must play it.

Worthy sequel of Hollow Knight. So many great locations, so much to discover, so much to be thankful for.
Silksong seems to be harder game than Hollow Knight, but there are a few factors, Team Cherry managed to surpass its predecessor. Really powerful music, plot, characters and the atmosphere of the game itself. Hornet simply became one of my favourite female characters in gaming industry.
It took me 72 hours to beat this game and despite how hard it was, this adventure was really wonderful and I shall remember it well.
