After surviving an exploding TARDIS, The Doctor finds herself with a new body and a new threat to face from her past.

When the Doctor receives a call for help from the Ood Circle, she is thrown into an adventure that reveals devious parties are at work.

In efforts to help Lara control her abilities, the Doctor turns to a previous companion, Gina, to help her learn to control her colossal side. While the two train, The Doctor and The Mistress meet and discover the reason that Lara was actually created, leading to the two keeping a huge secret from the Doctor's latest companion. The four also come across a universal station housing multiple beings from other areas of the universe, but are revealed to be controlled by the Vigil.

When The Doctor and Lara are confronted by Balthazar, or the scourge of the galaxy, they unintentionally run into the likes of Androvax the Annihilator, who takes over the Doctors body in order to hand her over to the Vigil, however, things don't quite work out for all who are involved.

When the Earth is under the threat of the Vigil, The Doctor and friends must do everything they can to save it before it ends. However, the only way to save the earth will cost the life of someone close to the Doctor who has only lately been in her life. Episode 1 of 2.
