Julianna Raye who had a bit part portraying Eggroll's Guitar Girl also provided the singing voice for the character of Susan Doyle.

Renée Zellweger was 25-years-old when portraying high school student Susan Doyle. It is unclear how old Lucky Mullins is supposed to be. John Doe, who played the character, was 40-years-old at the time.

The line "we're desperate, get used to it," heard twice, is a reference to the song "We're Desperate" by John Doe's band X.

This marks another collaboration for actress PJ Soles and producer Debra Hill. Debra Hill produced and co-wrote John Carpenter's Halloween (1978) which co-starred PJ Soles as Lynda, one of the best friends of Jamie Lee Curtis' character.
