    Truly Special

This is a haunting episode containing incredibly rich thematic material. It welcomes rumination on the many manifestations of love, sin, salvation, and suffering. It takes an unflinching look at what each of these things mean to these characters and what happens when those ideas come into conflict. The ability to put characters in situations that challenge people's preconceived notions of these things is the mark of fantastic writing. Episodes like this that encourage viewers to engage in self-reflection are what can truly elevate a show and allow its influence to transcend its medium. It's beautiful, gut-wrenching, and simply awe-inspiring.

    A reminder

This episode is a reminder for us not to keep cheering for Askkelad's Crew! Not to forget who they are and what they do and they misery they cause to innocent people!

    Vikings were monsters.

This is the kind of thing Vikings really did and i love how Vinland saga doesn't brush it under the rug, they were literal savages. Living in that time must have been pure hell. Amazing writing, animation and adaption of source material.

    Dark and realistic episode!

This episode was something else! From the very first scene this episode felt different! Tone was different with a much more realistic approach! This episode reminds us of Vikings true nature in a brutal and heartbreaking way! For most of the series we have followed Askelad and his crew, which might have tricked us into thinking they are the guys we should root for..

This episode shifts focus to a village of innocent civilians and suddenly our perception is challenged with an act of cruelty!

I really enjoyed this episode! Grest animation and music! There was a certain feel of unease! I hope too see more of this kind of approach in the future!

    Cruelty

That was the cruelest cinematic scene ever made, just something to cry over, something to get outrageous over, what an episode.

Anne: God. Are you watching? Did father, mother, grandmother, my young brothers arrive to you in Heaven? I guess it is not my fate to be called up there after all. Of course not. Nevertheless... my heart races so. I cannot believe. I cannot believe that such terrible men exist in the world. I cannot believe that there are men who fear not your punishment. Just as the time I stole this ring... my heart races so fast.
