Like I said don't even think about going to the movies! This is by far The worst movie I've ever seen! Since the beginning you can definitely see the worst transitions and effects, the actors didn't helped at all!
Over all a waist of money! Couldn't even finish watching.

"El Regreso de La Llorona is a real horror movie, not a stupid slasher flick."
The way that they used the idea of La Llorona to explore that experience, and the experience to explore the story of La Llorona, is the true purpose of art.
I don't know what else to call this movie, but "horror" is just too small a word for it.
El Regreso de La Llorona focuses more on the terrors and acts of atrocity that humans are perfectly capable of without the help of supernatural evil.
Our greatest fears are those that we create ourselves. In this case, La Llorona is a vengeful consequence born from the darkest depths of sadness and loss.

From many bad movies I have seen, this certainly beats them all. The only good things I can say about this film is the dark enviroment that works out very well with the terror of the film and the death scenes are ok. The rest of the film doesn't work out very well. The first long minutes of the movie are very boring and the story it tells at the start of the movie has nothing to do with the original legend it's based on. The concept of the legendary spirit of this movie is very different from the original legend. Other film adaptations have the air of the original legend, but this one doesn't. My final rating for this movie is a 2/10.

*I watched El Regreso de La Llorona via Tubi.
This isn't a horror film but a haunting of revenge stemming from the folklore legend of La Llorona, aka The Weeping Woman.
There is an element of horror in El Regreso de La Llorona, however, I feel that a lot of the "negative" reviews were expecting a straightforward horror movie, which, I think this film offers so much more than that (a remarkable plot for starters).
This is a subtle folk tale and one that some might find to be a slow-burn. The horror lies not in the actions of the dead, but in the injustice of the living.
Seek this out if you are looking for a solid entry to the folklore of La Llorona!

La Llorona (the Crying Woman, the Weeping Woman, the Wailer) is a vengeful ghost in Mexican folklore who is said to roam near bodies of water, mourning her children whom she drowned in a jealous rage after discovering her husband was unfaithful to her.
Whoever hears her crying either suffers misfortune or death, and their life becomes unsuccessful in every field.
So, now that you know the backstory of the La Llorona legend, let's dive into this fresh take!
As someone who doesn't necessarily enjoy Horror, I gotta say, this film is more of a revenge film than anything else, and boy, does it go there (you'll see!).
One thing that I always appreciate with these newer takes on legends is that the Directors stray from the path a bit and allow their take, but still stick to the origin in some way or another.
Lastly, the cast is destined to appear in more features, as they are all young and seem hungry to continue their acting careers.
8/10.
