"A mind covered in a black cloud of ignorance. "

After seeing the magnificent The Unsettling (2021-also reviewed),I decided to end the night with another Horror viewing. Searching round online,I was happy to stumble on a Horror title from Nepal! This led to me travelling to meet Prabesh and his family.

Sent away from the rural outskirts to go study in a arts college in Bhaktapur and follow in the footsteps of his dad,editor/ co-writer (with Suraj Mainali,Pralhad Rijal and Gourav Basnet) / director Ian Scott Clement & cinematographer Rajiv Manandhar layer a textured, disorientating Horror atmosphere from winding tracking shots driving deep into the beautiful Nepal countryside, and pulling Prabesh with them, via stark, eerie wide-shots and abrasive close-ups isolating Prabesh from familiar faces.

Going into first-person to stylishly display Prabesh's blinking, the writers place the audience into the mind-set of the lead character, which washes over in hazy, Ambient Horror fragments, as Prabesh being challenged in class to go "Outside of your comfort zone", leading him sinking into drugs and a shamanic encounter, until Prabesh finds himself alone, with his nightmare visions.
