I hadn't even heard about the 2020 movie titled "Crazy Awesome Teachers" (aka "Guru-Guru Gokil") before now in 2021 as I had the opportunity to sit down and watch it. I briefly checked up on the movie before sitting down to watch it, and it seemed like it was a movie that could prove entertaining.

And I will say that if you enjoy a movie that is equal parts drama, comedy and crime, then "Crazy Awesome Teachers" is a movie that you should give a chance. I must admit that I actually enjoyed the movie.

Sure, the storyline was pretty generic, but at the same time, it actually worked out well enough, because it was nicely written and had a good amount of comedy to it that definitely helped spruce it up.

Now, I am not overly familiar with the Indonesian cinema, so there weren't anyone familiar here in the movie. But I will say that they actually performed quite nicely and brought their individual characters to life on the screen in a good way.

"Crazy Awesome Teachers" is a feel-good movie, and it is one that I definitely will recommend you taking the time to watch, if you want a light comedy with a good story.

My rating of "Crazy Awesome Teachers" lands on a six out of ten stars.

This movie has twist ending, and I like this movie because it has moral messages that can be taken to our life. And it was really fun to watch with your family cause this movie is kinda funny too.

The performances have been a saviour because apart from that, there's not much that 'Guru-guru Gokil' has to offer. It has its moments but also disappoints quite a lot.

I don't really watch Indonesian flicks---except for them certain ones that caught my attention. I don't normally check out this kind, and yet somehow, I found this one a tad enticing. And for that, it deserves a credit. I still frown at their cringy choice of using 'gokil' as their movie title but I'm not gonna talk about the lousy title.

The story revolves around a man who's desperate to selfishly make a name for himself. All out of luck and money, he returns to his hometown and moves back in with his Father. He fakes a diploma to fool the faculty at a nearby school in order to fulfil his cruise-ship dream job. Then later he meets an attractive young teacher who kind of 'wakes' him up from reality. Long story short, with his colleagues, he tries to save the school's huge financial debacle.

I should let all know that Crazy Awesome Teachers is just another so-so yet quirky drama comedy which has some violance in its storyline; parental discretion is advised. The movie claims that the lead discovers the joys of teaching but it never shows on screen. The audience never actually see that development occurs and that's violating the first rule of good storytelling: Show, don't tell. Personally, I think it's way below average but I give generous 5 for the lovely shots.
