You think this is fun? You think Water's supposed to be fun?

Good opening episode. The highlight was the Black Noir opening sequence. Although, I will admit I was hoping a certain character that dies in that scene was going to play a bigger part in the season. He reminded me of Scott Adkins.

I also really enjoy when they talk about demographics and polling - so the Homelander & Ashley scenes were very entertaining. Especially the one involving Blindspot.

Other standouts were The Deep & what I'm guessing will be Homelander vs Edgar feud throughout the season.

So much darker and more intense than Deadpool!

Wow! Just watched Season 2 Ep.1 of this show so dark and horrific but also funny and very clever. Like Deadpool on steroids and with a series (so tons more character development) vs. movies.

We watched Season 1 a while ago and just binge-watched it again- it was dark (this show makes dark Batman, dark Superman, Thanos, etc. all look like shiny harmless Disney heros) but so far this new season is even more cringe-inducing. Like a train wreck you can't look away from- I did have to look away at parts.

This is one of those very adult shows that you either like enough to watch or you hate it- lots of totally inappropriate adult humor and situations.

    Gems among slow moving drama

I wasn't a big fan of the hughie and starlight drama or the boys focused drama in season 1 and it remains. Ep has many highlights from two new supers shown in a hilarious way, Homelander losing it, and clever writing.

Little slow but daddy is home now.

Season 1 was great and I love the first episode . Homeland is as ruthless as he is but later found that he is not most valuable assest in vought. Starlight and hughie partnership continues. Deep is still so messed up. Overall episode was little bit slow but acceptable as now daddy is home.

Great Start and Setup for The Season

Once again The Boys delivers spectacularly with its writing and execution. It's well-paced, well-acted and well-shot. It handles its characters excellently and, once again, has some very cleverly-told social commentary on the media and society in general. Overall, a very well-directed episode that will surprise and entertain most people.

    • Trivia
Hughie mentions The Hunger Games franchise, but can't remember the name of the main character, Katniss. Jack Quaid (Hughie) played Marvel in The Hunger Games (2012) (Quaid's acting debut); Marvel would end up being killed by Katniss.

Company founder Frederick Vought was supposedly so far "ahead of his time" in molecular genetics that he was able to develop Compound V even before World War II broke out. Quite a feat, considering that Watson and Crick only managed to decode the molecular structure of DNA in 1953; that it took a full 50 more years to just fully sequence a human genome for the first time; and that its workings are not fully understood to this day. It's like building an atomic bomb without knowledge about radioactivity and the structure of atoms (which is obviously not possible).
