What stood out the most was the story. It wasn't overly predictable like many superhero films can be. There were some unexpected turns that kept me engaged throughout. The pacing was solid, and the narrative gave each character their moment without dragging.
The cast also delivered. Everyone gave a believable and committed performance that made the characters feel more grounded and relatable. And the music? Super cool. The score added real energy to the film and elevated key scenes.
Overall, this reboot feels fresh and much more polished than previous attempts. Definitely worth watching whether you're a longtime fan or new to the franchise.
So it's passable for casual viewing. You'll probably appreciate the visual design and the music, and you may enjoy the acting despite its pervasive flatness.
Ultimately the best part was the depiction of old-fashioned values, when times were simpler. The idealists among us will find that refreshing.
The cast had amazing chemistry
I loved the 1960s futuristic timeline
Galactus was intimidating but i expected more from him
The build up to the final battle was slow yet interesting
Vanessa Kirby was such a BADASS!!!
Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic was amazing
Joseph Quinn did not disappoint
Ebon Moss-Bachrach for me was the best version of The Thing
Julia Garner as The Silver Surfer delivered so well
The movie has 2 post credit scenes
This is a fresh start to a new era of the MCU
8.5/10!!!
Must admit walked in with low expectations and came out hyped and excited for where this movie may take place with marvels next to come movies.
Had doubts on the casting being a diehard fan to the early first two originals but will admit the casting held up to their game in the movie.
The movie was a great standalone movie, didn't dwell and repeat too much on what we already know, went straight to the basics, keeping it simple and easy to follow with the plot. Providing us with little theories we can make with upcoming films also.
Music and effects I would say were pretty good or getting better, marvel is definitely heading towards a better direction.
Feel like we the audience need to lower our expectations a little, that way we will find more enjoyment.
This film is directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) and stars Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Vanessa Kirby (The Crown), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear), Julia Garner (Ozark), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), and Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face).
I actually preferred this over Superman-you can clearly see the influence of the WandaVision team. They did a fantastic job capturing the era, fleshing out the characters, and designing immersive sets that really draw you into this version of the Marvel universe. The CGI and special effects are elite, and I highly recommend seeing this in 3D if you get the chance.
The casting was spot-on across the board-maybe with the exception of Silver Surfer. As a longtime fan of the character from the comics, the gender swap threw me off at first. That said, the Surfer's powers are portrayed so impressively that it's easy to accept the change. Galactus is done perfectly-he's portrayed as a truly elite villain-and I also loved the inclusion of classic foe The Mole Man. The film does a great job introducing the characters and establishing the stakes. There's a lot to enjoy here.
In conclusion, Fantastic Four: First Steps is a strong addition to the increasingly saturated superhero genre. I'd give it an 8/10 and strongly recommend checking it out.
