With my apologies to the Bros., I HATE ghost hunting shows and this is why my rating is so low. LOATHE them. They are idiotic tripe and faked: rem-pods, EVPS and the stick "anomaly acquired" figures dancing on a screen are either FAKEd by the production or they sell you devices that have pre-programmed images/sounds/beeps and y'all fall for it. Today I finally decided to watch the mini-marathon of Ghost Bros they had this am... I am invariably bored and distracted by conspiracy tweets and doom videos online to the point I forget to look up from my computer when the commercials I muted are over! :-/
I do quite enjoy the Ghost Bros, whom I've seen on PCOC and Fright Club. They are dapper and know their colors, caramel jacket, mint Tshirts, rose-brown wind-breaker and Marcus' trademark color sneakers (apricot, emerald, red, you name it, he's got them!) They bring tons visual appeal with them. I know them from PCOC and Fright Club. They are awesome and mainly put the fun in ghost hunting. It's a delight to watch them have so much fun with something all the others take (themselves) so darn seriously! Marcus loves showboating and you never know what goofy antics he's gonna be up to, Dalen has charisma in droves and is very funny, often takes the lead and keeps the show moving, and more serious Juwan is the tall, strong and silent type, bringing balance to the other two. They make a great team and I love their friendship and how they look after each other. Sadly, just when they came on to PCOC, TC cancelled PCOC, UGH! The brothas are the best out of all the idiotic tripe the Travel Channel cons us with: coughsAmyAllencoughs coughszakbaganscoughs Catch my drift? I HATE those 2 turds!!!
With that said, I mentally check out when the waiting starts, and I mute these shows when the rem-pods aggress my eardrums with the shrill beeping. Unfortunately, they turn off the lights and switch to night vision and the are white-washed and I completely become disinterested, find myself immersed online and when I look back up, their show is done! :-/ My bad. I really can't stand ghost hunting shows with all the horrible noises etc.
WHY couldn't this show bring panoramic cameras, like Google cars? Set 1 in each room and bring me REAL footage of apparitions and shadow men!!! Some have been shown on PCOC. But nope. Nobody ever brings you real ghost footage when they senseless wait. I'm not interested in devices going off.
That said, the TC needs to bring them back in a BETTER TV show and be done with the electronic devices. You've seen one of these, you've seen them all: BORING, except for the Bros humor. I love when they hide from one another (or was that from the spook) and the other finds them. I love when they wrap up, pack up and start singing as they drive off. But WHY does the production force them to bring a Medium to get rid of the spooks?? I'm sure the 3 are quite capable to clean house. And the one I watched thru this am was an inept psychic who got rid of nothing with her meek demeanor and weak commands yet they told the homeowners that the ghouls were gone. MM-kay.
10/10 for the bros personality, good looks, charisma, for the fun they bring and they dapper clothes. 10/10 for being original in comparison to the White peoples ghost boring hunting shows. But 2/10 for the production that serves us dumb footage of electronic shrill noises and of waiting endlessly for a ghost whom, we already know, will never appear on camera.
I do like when they gather info on the past happenings in the house, that's always interesting (and the best part of the boring Dead Files!) so many elements to make a good show but too much of the beeps and scratching my eardrums shrill noises, and waiting and whiting out the images kills it for me.
This production however, has better 'setting the mood" recreation footage, and they ought to keep that and what works for the new show. Just get rid of the mind-numbing noises and waiting time. Show us the Bros themselves getting rid of the spook. Maybe show them at home: did a ghost follow them? Do they hear noises? Also get rid of the barber shop footage: pet peeve of mine, I hate seeing shaving, hair cutting/trimming as much as I loathe all male or female grooming/hygiene and bodily functions footage. ECH!
But: the Ghost Brothas have charisma to spare and screen presence in spades and fun in droves, so they're always a joy to watch. Can't one of you prods THINK beyond the cookie-cutter nonsense and bring them in their own NEW show with NEW elements that make it 100% fun for the viewer?? Remove the aforementioned and that'll be an improvement. 10/10 for my boyz, 8/10 for the added footage images recreating the past, 2/10 for the bad stuff.
