    Good perspective on Henry VIII

This is one of the better English history documentaries.

The program does benefit from having historians provide commentary instead of using pop culture figures like many new American documentaries. They add validity to the information and opinions being presented.

The series could have included more episodes because a lot of information was left out. There was literally no mention of how Henry treated his children, other relatives, and living ex-wives. As usual Anne Boleyn, like most shows, was given the most airtime which was disappointing. The stories of the last 3 wives was very brief, if they were mentioned at all.

In general, the production value is high and the show is worth watching.

    Interesting

This documentary tells the story of Henrys most engaging and important moments within his life. Although I enjoyed the dramatics of the show and the engaging tone, it lacks perspective. For example it's view on the dissolution of the monasteries lacks depth, it portrays many of the main characters as 2D leaving out information which might oppose the main theme of Henry being a 'monster'.

    who does that!

Found this interesting but felt scammed by all the precious documentation being touched by human hands made me feel like it was all bogus and staged i can't imagine anyone ever allowing their archives being touched without the precaution of gloves.to preserve the priceless works, the longer i watched the more aggravated i became i'm not extremely thrilled that you only accept a comment with a predesignated word count i am sure i am wasting my time but i was really irritated

II felt like the entire thing fabricated every time i saw someone touch the archives with bare hands disgusted me and i finally quit watching it,

    • Trivia
This series includes some discussion on potential that may have been due to Henry sustaining a TBI at the age of 44, following his life threatening injury during a jousting match early in 1536. Historians posit that Henry was more civil and much less paranoid and vicious before this injury than this series represents. Letters to the Spanish Court support witnessing a remarkable turn in his behavior after the jousting injury.
