Solid start to what's undoubtedly going to be a great little series. I know the basics of this tale but I'm looking forward to more of a deep dive. Solid acting all around. Props to the make-up department -- I can't BELIEVE that's Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp. She's such an underrated actress.
Great series well made and acted. I would have given it a 10 if not for the "Elephant in the room" (Pun intended) Monica. In some scenes she almost looks obese Please look at actual pics of Monica at the time. She is actually about 15 lbs overweight. If Sarah Paulson gained 20 lbs for her role why couldn't Beanie Feldstein lose 20 lbs. Realistically all of Clinton's "girls" were actually quite svelte and to believe he almost lost his presidency to someone as overweight as the Monica character was hard for me to believe.
OMG that's Sarah Paulson???? I would have never ever guessed that she transformed completely. Wow great job she was marvelous. All the characters were spot on.
"FX's" real life crime anthology series from Ryan Murphy is back this time in season 3 which focuses on the Clinton scandal and Impeachment. Episode one "Exiles" starts it off with longtime white house staffer Linda Tripp(the one and only great Sarah Paulson who's greatly transformed) being demoted and moved to the Pentagon where she meets an energy filled new government intern named Monica Lewinsky(Beanie Feldstein) and the two hit it off and you see soon that this relationship will reveal plenty to the American public. Also showcased and focused on in the first episode is the sexual harassment lawsuit from Paula Jones(Annaleigh Ashford) who claimed Bill Clinton did some naughty things to her as Arkansas governor. The episode was well written and acted super with cast chemistry at A plus levels, and it captures the times of the mid to late 90's well. Really this was a fine start to another hit work from Ryan Murphy.
I don't want to repeat what's already been stated, but this season has absolutely grabbed my attention with only the first episode. I'm absolutely excited to see the rest of the season.
Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones is an absolute standout. She plays Jones as a sympathetic participant in this storm.
