Who say porn actor weren't actors!

Bree Mills has an excellent film here. She shows how great a director she is with movie. Unfortunately the real world won't see this excellent film. These actors are brilliant in this movie, but will still only be called porn stars and this a porn movie. Too bad, because the story is a real good about coming out, and all the horror the people must feel. And how the outside world treats them. If there are Oscar's for porn movie this would win. People that are ashamed of watching porn movies, should see this one. Yes there some X rated scenes in it but there are also Xrated scene in mainstream movies. At least they don't pretend in this movie. The actors could by means act in a mainstream movie if given a chance, but I highly doubt anyone would give them a part. Too bad, because with their clothes on, they can actually act, some better than a lot of the so called mainstream actress's can act. So if you can get chance to find and watch the full Xrated version, it is a masterpiece even better than the movie Caligula, the Xrated movie with the famous people in it!

    Earnest, effective coming-of-age drama

I was pleasantly surprised that Bree Mills took an old-fashioned (relatively speaking) approach to her crossover film "Teenage Lesbian", rather than the facetious, fake-hip tone of her hundreds (nay, thousands) of porn vignettes shot over the past 5 years.

Unlike another new crossover project from Bree, the improbable thriller "Perspective", this drama holds up nicely in its R-rated 89-minute cut (which was reissued in May 2023 as a VOD titled "Unveilled Teen Lesbians"), reminiscent of those exploitation genre "problem pictures" so popular back in the '50s, '60s and "70s (e.g., Jerry Gross's memorable "Teenage Mother").

Kristen Scott underplays quite well in the title role, as a teen named Sam back in 1998-99, suffering humiliation and bullying at school for her butch style and assumed lesbian status. Picture opens with her literally thrown in a dumpster and called a "Dyke!" by four kids, setting the tone for what's to come.

She has a poor body image, underscored by her using duct tape over her undershirt to clamp down her breasts as a daily routine. She suffers at the seductive opportuning of her beautiful best friend played by Aidra Fox, something of a lipstick lesbian who leads her on but drops Kristen like a hot potato when latter kisses her lustily.

After suffering more humiliation at a party where a sexy girl (Alina Lopez) inexplicably mistakes her for a boy when making out in the ladies room, she has another unfortunate letdown by a straight girl when beautiful classmate Whitney Wright befriends her and becomes a movie buff pal (extolling the greatness of art films like Godard's "Breathless") but likewise is turned off when Kristen makes lesbian advances.

Through the mentoring of Kenna James as well as LBGT support group leader Bree Mills herself (in an effective unbilled role), Kristen as Sam finally comes out and ends the movie on a high note, in love with a kindred classmate played by Kendra Spade.

As Chuck Vincent pioneered back in the 1980s with a series of R-rated movies for Playboy and Vestron, Bree populates the cast almost exclusively with familiar Adult Cinema stars, showing their acting chops in mainly NonSex dramatic roles. Tommy Pistol and Dee Williams as Sam's parents do a fine job, and even porn icon Brad Armstrong disappears into his role as her kindly guidance counselor at high school. Wolf Hudson, who alongside Christian XXX is a rare Adult performer cast in boy/boy, boy/girl and boy/trans roles, is very effective in the NonSex male lead as Sam's best bud.

A host of extras also includes porn stars, though this ploy becomes attenuated, best example being the fleeting sight only during the end credits of Riley Nixon walking away from the camera with Kristen and many other students - Riley only recognizable because of her unique nearly shaved-head hairstyle.

Made for the new Adult Time porn service, "Teenage Lesbian" was issued recently in a 2 DVD set, including the R-rated version and a complete 183-minute XXX cut. The full-length movie is twice as long by virtue of its explicit extended lesbian sex scenes (as well as XXX female masturbation content), with the key ones featuring Kristen opposite Kenna and Kendra running 26 to 32 minutes each, compared to the merely 1 to 3 minute R-rated sex scenes that get the same point across efficiently if not pruriently.
