For those who can't relate, but to those who can, especially the Filipinos - or to be exact the Filipino-Americans, this definitely hits home. Although lots of the perpetuated stereotypes might seem obtrusive or offensive but nonetheless offensively humurous and enjoyable. This is pretty much the Filipino take on spaghetti, it tastes funny and strange to the uninitiated. But to the Filipinos, there's nothing like it.
TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!! I saw this at a packed-house screening in Los Angeles and enjoyed it so much that I bought it here and watched it again with a group of friends. I literally laughed AND cried throughout the movie. This works as a movie to put on at a party as well as a perfect date-night flick.
It's a fantastic film about family-for adults, though teenagers will definitely dig it as well. Amazed that it's the director's first feature (as director). It's a mix of original vibes with some Scorsese, Jarmusch, Guy Ritchie, and even some early Farrelly Brothers flavors thrown in the mix. And while there's a focus on the titular brothers, the film gives the female characters their due-they are well-rounded and ultimately I feel there's a feminist/humanist heart beating right beneath the surface.
A seasoned and charismatic ensemble cast that's able to balance absurdist with grounded humor, along with sincere romance and flawed characters you can't help but love. Also, quotable af.

Cringiest movie I've seen in a long time. And not in a quirky cheesy Filipino movie kinda way. Like so bad I want to throw my tsinelas at the TV bad. Everything try-hard corny from the bad acting (e.g. Dayo constantly OA "over acting"), horrendous soundtrack, sloppy directing (like dispose of the syringe that you didn't actually inject in the rooster, and that you were supposed to keep a secret but instead waived around in front of the nick c.), some scenes didn't even make any sense.
Pretty shots in the Philippines and Solenn are its only saving grace. Even though Solenn's accent clearly gives away the fact she didn't grow up in the States with Duke.
Really embarrassing movie to be honest.

First of all, I must say that the movie's cover/poster wasn't particularly inspiring or interesting to look at, so I almost skipped out on watching "The Fabulous Filipino Brothers". But I figured that I would sit down to watch this 2021 romantic comedy, as I hadn't already seen it before.
And luckily I did, because "The Fabulous Filipino Brothers" turned out to be a rather enjoyable movie from writers Arianna Basco, Dante Basco, Darion Basco and Dionysio Basco. Talk about keeping it in the family, huh?
The storyline in "The Fabulous Filipino Brothers" follows the lives of four brothers, as played by the four Basco brothers, and it was actually a rather interesting storyline. The writers managed to give each of the characters their own unique storylines and tying everything together in a good way, so the narrative that drove the movie had a natural feel to it.
"The Fabulous Filipino Brothers" has a good cast ensemble, and I will say that the Basco brothers definitely carried the movie quite well. I was a shame, though, that Arianna Basco didn't have a larger role to play in the movie, because she could definitely have spruced things up. And Liza Lapira simply stole the screen with her performance, as she was so well-cast for her role and delivered a spot on performance.
This movie brings a nice insight into Filipino-American culture and what it means to have an Asian heritage.
My rating of director Dante Basco's 2021 movie lands on a seven out of ten stars. I was definitely enjoying this movie and I was entertained from beginning to end.

This is classic bay area filipino culture you either get it or you don't I liked it. It's far fetched and not for kids but it's hilarious. The movie had all the classic Filipino romance and humor .the food is awesome the one scene did molest some of the greats but was funny .
