Riverton, NH is a real town in NH (part of Jefferson), and the home of Santa's Village.
The actors playing the opposing mayors are three years apart, so when Tricia Helfer was a freshman in high school, Eric Mabius was a senior, so, in reality, they couldn't have competed for class president as they were in different classes. (Although it's only characters, but it's still interesting.)
