Ghost Hound is one of the best anime I've ever watched. People say the story is all over the place, but that's only if you have a very short attention span. It's sophisticated, mixing horror, political thriller, medical thriller, folklore and mythology, and quantum mechanics with a very healthy dose of interpersonal relationships and their problems. The character design is original and interesting, again, not for those who only like the current kawaii trend, but all very expressive. They are deep and well-developed, they all grow during the series, including several of the side characters. The soundtrack is amazing, music used more to create mood than as a background to the action. The opening and ending songs are great, too.
If you like thought-provoking series and can connect the dots along several storylines that take their time converging into a cohesive whole, you will certainly like this series.
Ghost hound is an atmospheric but slow Burn mystery show that certainly has a lot of charm, atmosphere and really good audio design.
Ghost hound shows a lot of interesting theories and a lot of psychoanalysis and thinks I didn't know about. It's not unbearable slow that it's awful to watch. Just happens very little in each episode and show is way too long for my taste. 22 episodes, I wish the story was tightened up.
The story and characters are interesting seeing how they overcome their trauma, by out of body experiences and slowly discovered the secret to what happened a long time ago. It's so interesting.
Production I. G. Did it again. It looks good, that backgrounds stains out as really pretty, and a character design has softness to it. And also very distinct.
The noise and soundtrack works wonderful to get under your skin, make you feel unnerved. Clunky metal sounds, distortion, sounds of static, it just a full package. It's just really strong Audio Design.
It's a really rewarding show to watch, many twist, many turns, many characters that are small town people but still lovable. It is very engaging but you have to accept the slow burn. Would absolutely recommend.

Art is horrible, characters aren't that great and storyline just seems all over the place. Yeah I'm glad I skipped watching the whole lot...
Ghost Hound is a refreshing break from the mainstream. It can, at times, be a bit confusing; but it is overall a very interesting anime. This is one of the very few anime I have seen that deals with psychological issues in a serious way. While it may not always be realistic (it is fantasy, after all) it does discuss real psychological issues (particularly PTSD) and you might just learn a thing or two while watching. The calm yet serious atmosphere it presents can be surprisingly eerie and it leaves you thinking.
I looked for this series because of its pedigree - check out the wiki of the director and writer... associated with ghost in the shell, Appleseed, etc. The series leads to some amazing resolutions that you don't expect. You may wind up wondering just what is the soul? The amazing surprise for me was the music... the opening music is hot, and the composer/singer is very popular for creating this kind of music... definitely check it out. Plot is 3 students discover they have a common reason for checking out an abandoned hospital that is usually submerged when a new dam was put in. Now partially accessible in the mud, spiritual experiences and the personal histories of the three combine to create a great mystery.
