Hunting Season

Things come to a halt for the first day of Hunting season, much to Arthur's dismay. As a result, Arthur finds himself going head-to-head with Adams while Ginny tries to be the peacemaker between the two. Meanwhile, Wayne and Dwayne take Cash out hunting for the first time, only to find that they disagree about what it truly means to be a man.

Full disclosure: this is kind of a filler episode. There aren't a lot of new plot points introduced, and sadly, there isn't a big musical number like the other episodes. It's likely they didn't have the budget for a musical number in every episode. Nevertheless, this was a fun little side story. As someone who is from a small town with a huge hunting community, I feel that this episode is real. I personally don't hunt, but I know a lot of my friends and coworkers who treat it like a national holiday. So, I could relate to Arthur's frustration with everything coming to a stop. Ginny takes more of a back seat in this episode. However, she does have some of the best moments when she finally does speak up. And Anna Camp is just as likable and cute as Ginny. So even though it's not as good as the other episodes, it's still a fun little adventure and better than a lot of what's on these days.

Gotta give it to them -- this episode of Perfect Harmony is a perfect 10! It's so funny, so original, so well written and acted. Much of what's been going on in sitcoms in recent years has gotten tediously derivative, but this show is going into areas -- with the plot lines, the characters, and the humor -- we've never seen before. It's so great to see comedy giving us a refreshing new landscape. I hope this show stays on for many, many years!
