Nurse Romina returns home. She's shocked to find a strange guy and a dying man. The stranger is the father of a former patient and he needs help for the dying man who is supposedly his daughter's rapist.
This starts as a great little three handed play. I really like the murky conflict and the unknowable history. I wish they stayed with that premise and figure out a compelling ending out of that situation. In a way, this reminded me initially of Death and the Maiden without the award winning actors. It's a terrific indie. Halfway into it, the movie makes a turn. I'm not mad at the turn but it does make it messy. All in all, I love the first half and I appreciate the idea of trying. It tries to be an interesting gory thriller.

*NON-SPOILER*
This starts out pretty fast with not much back story before we get our teeths into the gritty story, which is fine as the back story comes to light in due course.
The film itself suffers from a rare thing called over-acting, and this was by Chris Smyth. Now I don't blame him for it as it's clearly the direction they wanted to take and he's doing as he's asked, but the amount of different face pulling that goes on, regardless of his character's reasoning is simply just overkill. It's every single scene his mouth is gurning all over the place, it gets very tedious very quickly.
The storyline itself and how it's portrayed is more than unbelievable for sure. It needed more thought and subtlety rather than going gung-ho with the trauma and gore.
I thought Lora Burke was great btw. Average watch, nothing special.

I watched this because I had seen Lora Burke in "Motherly" and was highly impressed by her acting.
She is also great in this totally brutal home invasion movie with a twist. The violence in the second half is realistic and unrelenting with great gore effects.
A little gem of a movie for a horror fan like me.

The first half was good, nice buildup of suspense, only to fall flat with an illogical and completely implausible second half gore fest. Four stars for a good half a movie and some creative gore.
The dumb behavior and choices ruin what could have been a good flick. Not to mention the gaping potholes. Multiple gunshots and no neighbours call the cops? Halloween night and no trick or treaters or cars driving by, despite being in a residential neighborhood? Better writers are sorely needed in the world right now. This is a weak flick, watchable only for the low budget gore.

- TriviaOriginally the interior of the house was going to be built as a set in an empty office space. After losing their first choice for production designer, the filmmakers were able to acquire a piece of property from a local contracting company. The house was set for demolition at the end of December of 2019 and had been vacant for months. Gabriel Carrer and Reese Eveneshen, now acting as production designers, had just under two weeks to completely decorate the house and get it camera ready for cast and crew. This included gutting one of the spare bedrooms and turning it into a Bathroom for one of the films biggest fight sequences. Through-out shooting, the cast and crew had to share the tight spaces and limited room of the house. There was only one working bathroom. The upstairs had one small room available for hair, make-up, wardrobe and cast. The filmmakers housed their production design materials, as well as the bulk of the camera gear and computers in the adjacent room. The rest of the camera equipment was kept in the house's unfinished basement. After shooting one of the violent scenes in the kitchen above, fake blood leaked through the vents and coated much of the equipment below. Located in the driveway outside was a Camping Trailer that had been rented to act as a small office, and the craft service area.
