I don't remember if I laugh that much in any movie I have evert watched. This birds are marvellous, funny, ridiculously funny with being so stylish in the fruitfull jungle... They remind me of the aristocrat people that we see in movies. Their dresses, how they behave, how they dance, how they look...
Only thing different from them is that the 'female' birds are so unpretentious. Almost all of them look like light brown chickens hanging around. But boy, look at this males! Really wow!
What can be said to that bird guy who can imitate all that sound. Incredible.
My only criticism is that, the documentary could be longer and there can be more moments without music and the narrator speaking. The birds themselves are enough interesting. The narrator should not give us the feeling that we would close watching and get bored if he is not talking and give us more silent times to watch the bird dancing and doing his woo!

Who says that Documentaries are boring
You will be surprised about everything in this documentary. It is useful, unexpected, and truly marvelous. This world is full of amazing species, birds are one of them. It is one of the best nature documentaries ever. It is a perfect mix between entertaining and educational. Narrating the story in an easy funny way is a major plus in this documentary.
Finally for people who might feel that documentaries are boring and useless, watch this, this is gonna change your mind.

Stephen Fry narrates a Netflix documentary about a few of the birds of paradise. It's fun and colorful. It's fascinating. Of course, these birds have been done before but it's always great to see them again. Stephen Fry gives it that British sensibilities. I've grown accustomed to a British accent for these nature shows and this is basically TV comfort food.

My only criticism is that 51 minutes isn't long enough! I love birds So I knew this doco would be enjoyable but it exceeded expectations! So good. Entertaining and educational and Stephen Fry is the perfect choice as narrator. 10/10!!

Randomly selected this movie on netflix the other day and could NOT stop laughing watching it. The production value is astonishing and the narration is perfect. Be sure to stay until the end because "Bob" does a dance you will never forget.

I think I nearly cried three times. These birds are beautiful and quirky what's not to love.
This is a mutch watch! Many laughs are guaranteed, and a new found interest in birds as well.

This film has become my favourite Natural History film of all times. It's impressive but it's also funny. Didactic but entertaining. It's beautiful as well as contemporary.
I love the way each story has been structured, creating different story arcs in each one of the different "episodes" within the film. Great use of the goodies and the baddies throughout the film helping to build up tension and drama and making the outcome for each contestant so unpredictable (would they succeed or fail?)
Great use of graphics that help the audience to be clear of what they are seeing helping with the learning process of the film. An good sense of humour supported by a brilliant music score.

It is time to sell this to the public. I would love to get this on a DVD and take it to my friends and family with pets. My cats are entertained and so am I. They bat at the TV and make their chatting noises. They love TW, MacGregor, and Bob. I play it when their antics are getting to be too much in our home. I love the script, music, and cinematography. The birds are so beautiful. The music makes it so fun to watch. The narrator does a excellent job delivering the script. I giggle everytime I watch it. I have watched it at least 20 times. I tell family and friends that they need to watch it. It make my day better when I'm a little down. It makes me smile and laugh. I will be so sad when they decide to remove it from Netflix. SOOOOO, release it on DVD, already!

This is a charming watch but is focused more on fanciful quirky music accompanying the imagery of the birds doing their mating dances.
There isn't much more to it. You are told the name of the bird, then told "this bird wiggles his bum to attract the ladies!" and then you watch.
And that's it.
Heavy on the silly, quirky commentary and jaunty music... light on the actual information and education.
This honestly kept us entertained THE WHOLE TIME. We put it on to help our toddler fall asleep but actually got really into it. Watching the birds dancing around and seeing their thought process was interesting and funny. Definitely recommend giving it a shot!!

It's a great film to watch with your family but it lost a lot of points because of irrelevant music when the birds danced that made it less natural. The commentary by Stephen Fry was crisp.

I thought the music was done really well. It added a lot to the entertainment value of the movie.

Envelopes you with a sense of joy and wellbeing. Wonderful narration by Stephen Fry and the only remotely negative thing is that it could have been a bit longer. I really hope there'll be some more similar shows.

I don't often watch wildlife docs, but I was recommended by a friend, and honestly it was one of the best I've ever seen.
The perfect mix of humour and storytelling in nature.
Give it a try, you won't be wasting your time!

This was hands down, in my top 5 documentaries of all time. I literally just threw this on for my CAT lmao. Little did I know I would become so engrossed in it and have my mind explode with all of this new bird knowledge?! Like I thought I knew birds. Even exotic birds. But I was wrong. I am still so floored with what was shown in this doc. I had no idea the level of intelligence and abilities of birds. I had no idea they were capable of such intricate and purposeful behaviors. I highly recommend everyone watch this. It's a shorter film so not a huge time commitment. It had me laughing, tearing up, and generally heart warmed. This has completely changed the way I think about birds.
What an interesting documentary!
I never knew such a thing exsisted within the bird sanctum of existence haha.
I was taken by surprise and laughed more than expected with this one.
The voice over was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed the play on human reality they added to this too.

Not much to add here that hasn't been said already. Impossible to give this film a negative review! We are so ignorant about the world around us but thanks to years and years of research we are able to understand what's going on! I will never look at birds the same way again!

Very interesting and very well narrated. Since it's a Netflix documentary, the production quality was top notch. Totally enjoyed it and saw hidden socila life of these beautiful birds. And yeah most of the interaction led to happy ending in the end. So that's the fun part. (;
