Daisy's Amazing Discoveries - The Movie

Mika Lumi Tuomola served as a multimedia director for the five-part interactive web series, released on the Internet between March and June 1996. The pilot episode of the series had a preview screening at the Tampere Film Festival during March, 1996. Tuomola's master script of 120 pages was used as the basis for the shooting script by Kepa Lehtinen and Pasi Peni. Short scenes (~40-second video clips) form a narrative framework for each web episode, with text and image collages (photographs and Java slideshows with music and sound effects) of past events, magazine articles and diaries. The artistic crew for the web series also include visual designer Marja Vainionpää, graphic designer Aki Kivelä (also a lead programmer) and photographer Kari Kankainen. Finnish and English versions were released simultaneously (the latter assembled by Jari Honkonen). The web series was visited by more than 50,000 people worldwide by March 1997 (the site wasn't updated since June 1996 and has now been taken offline). The short film "Daisy's Amazing Discoveries - The Movie", directed by Kepa Lehtinen, was screened at the Kettupäivät short film festival in Helsinki on November 12, 1996.
