    Low budget horror

Achieves great heights when the director shows restraint. Some parts push the horror too much and it loses me. But really, really great in many parts. Superb performance from Cherie Gil who I'm used to seeing in glamorous roles. She should have gotten an Urian nomination here (she instead won for her performance in Citizen Jake which I think is the inferior film). Janna Agoncillo who played the tortured daughter is a surprising revelation. Carl Palaganas sticks out because he obviously got the role for being an albino which is a pretty hard role to cast.

All in all, this is one of the better horror pinoy films. Better than a lot of bigger-budgeted ones. Glad that it's on Netflix now because more people need to see this. Looking forward to seeing more stuff from the director, Eve Baswel.

    Making sense of pain

Imaginative, immersive, raw. Touches deeply into experiences of pain with few, carefully chosen images and words. Highly recommended for fans of Robert Egger's work.

Weird, is there no child welfare responsibility here? :O

I kept wondering when a teacher was gonna say something already! :O This movie was ok, another one and done for me. Nothing exceptional, but a little more interesting and strange story line compared to so much overdone american trash. The mother character was a monster. I felt so horrible for the poor little girl, her albino pal and the cute cat. Had some pretty coloring in the tree tops and a cool creepy house, but super sad to watch this poor kid. :(

    a visual masterpiece...

Of filippine filmaking on a low budget. its severe child abuse and neglect that shocks you throughout the whole 83 minutes. the end section are unexpected and very brutal so grab your seat, cause this is madness played very well by the small cast. the drive and well crafted young actress playing the child caracter is startling.

filmographic and visual effects are the work of a craftsman/-woman, the sound effects and icecold bold pianomusic that follows you allround makes the grittyness even tougher to digest. the film may feel slow to some viewers, and storywise its a slim story that makes you disbelief and you start wondering whats really happening. maybe a flaw, but ever so enhancing the subject of madness.

a film that should be viewed when you are at your best of mental fitness, its not a usual meal of horror. a recommend from the grumpy old man
