This is one of those comedies where you only watch it because you stumbled onto it on Netflix. You aren't even looking forward to watching it but you have a 90 minutes to kill. You watch it, get mildly entertained, finish it and forget about it. You enjoy your time with it but move on.
That being said it wasn't bad at all. The main actor just seems to have no range at all. I like him, but he plays the same role in every film or tv show he is in. The other actors were pretty funny especially Pierce Brosnan. It was refreshing to see him in a goofball comedy.
Just another I have some time to kill so let's watch it movie.

Unfortunately I can not think of a single good thing to say about this movie. It's bad. Really, really bad. The script is terrible. I assume the actors only did this to pay off a debt. Adam Devine is easily the worst lead actor in cinematic history, so I hope he rakes in the Razzie Awards. Well deserved.
Adam Sandler produced this train wreck, so I didn't have high expectations in the first place. Those expectations were lowered almost immediately. Not even Pierce Brosnan could save this terrible movie.
If you have the "outlaw" in-laws holding a gun to your head, then sure, watch it. But if you a sock drawer that needs sorting or drying paint that needs watching, do that instead.

This movie sucks. The only thing that saves it from 1/10 is that its a good cast and feels like a quality production compared.
First of all, the plot is silly. Silly plots can work if the script is funny. This was not. The characters are totally unbelievable and boring. For instance, having an FBI agent who works alone on the field and is bad at his job just feels old and boring. The dialogue sometimes doesnt make sense and is unbelievable. The movie wants to be a comedy but its just not funny. I didnt laugh once during the movie. I believe I smirked once at one of the comments from the main characters parents, but that was about it.
I finished the movie although I was very bored halfway through it. Afterwards I feel like it didnt give me anything. Not an interesting story, not interesting characters, extremely poor dialogue. Just not entertaining in any way.

I've never been a big fan of Adam, but Pierce/Ellen/Richard and Julie as the parents?! That meal scene alone was hilarious and worth the watch. Orgies?! How could you not cackle at Julie's character taking about attending those when she was younger? And I just love those four anyway. How fun to see Julie on screen again! I wish they would have all gotten more screen time though.
Same with Dean. He's outrageous and should have been utilized to a larger degree.
The main couple were fine, but everyone else stole the limelight.
I watch movies for entertainment. I'm not one to analyze them. Was I entertained? Yes. I enjoyed it.

I don't know what's going on with movies lately but why are they so dumbed down? Like the crude humor? The unnecessary cussing. I don't get it. Comedies like American Pie, Superbad, and Easy A seem to be a thing of the past. Instead of using humor, crudeness and all in funny ways, now we just do and say random stuff that no human would actually do or say. I don't know who's in the writers room and if these are older people thinking they are hip and cool by writing this dialogue but it's really weird. Aside from the trailer giving it away, it was clear from the beginning who the robbers were. I think most of the actors were good, and did ok with what they were given. Sad to see the actor who played Tyree play such an over the top caricature instead of a character more real like in get out. Comedy just isn't hitting the same way. Maybe gen z thinks this is funny but as a millennial it missed the mark.
