Not gonna lie, the first season was a ROLLERCOASTER of emotions. It moved at perfect speed, leaving me begging for more at the end of each episode. It is in my top 5 favorite tv shows based on season 1 alone.
Then, something happened. Season two came along and did an excellent job of story framing and gap filling in the first two episodes. After that, it feels like the last 8 episodes could have been condensed into 4 episodes. There was SO much filler and "artistic" shots that lasted far too long, in my opinion. One of the things I love about this show is that they don't hit it too on the nose with information and explanations. They use a ton of inferences and a "connect-the-dots" approach to help you gain an understanding of who we are, where we are, and why we are here in the story.
That said, a MASSIVE amount of information was either left untold, OR it went right over mine and my partner's heads. I know there are some theories online about what Cold Harbor really is and what it all means, but unless there's a season 3, we are extraordinarily disappointed in the season 2 finale. If this is the end of the series, what a colossal failure it was to end the show in the way that they did. I would have given a perfect 10 had they answered the BIGGEST detail I was dying to know. Maybe they get off on that...maybe it was intentional to play with my emotions and curiosity like that. If so, well played, BENNY STILLS!
Still, 8/10.
