Not gonna lie, the first season was a ROLLERCOASTER of emotions. It moved at perfect speed, leaving me begging for more at the end of each episode. It is in my top 5 favorite tv shows based on season 1 alone.
Then, something happened. Season two came along and did an excellent job of story framing and gap filling in the first two episodes. After that, it feels like the last 8 episodes could have been condensed into 4 episodes. There was SO much filler and "artistic" shots that lasted far too long, in my opinion. One of the things I love about this show is that they don't hit it too on the nose with information and explanations. They use a ton of inferences and a "connect-the-dots" approach to help you gain an understanding of who we are, where we are, and why we are here in the story.
That said, a MASSIVE amount of information was either left untold, OR it went right over mine and my partner's heads. I know there are some theories online about what Cold Harbor really is and what it all means, but unless there's a season 3, we are extraordinarily disappointed in the season 2 finale. If this is the end of the series, what a colossal failure it was to end the show in the way that they did. I would have given a perfect 10 had they answered the BIGGEST detail I was dying to know. Maybe they get off on that...maybe it was intentional to play with my emotions and curiosity like that. If so, well played, BENNY STILLS!
Still, 8/10.

"Severance" is one of the most disturbing shows that you'll ever see. The sad thing is that so many corporations do this sort of thing to people, turning them into mere cogs in the machine.
Definitely see it.
Definitely see it.
I can't even describe the show. It's unlike anything I have ever seen.
Remember that feeling you had after watching The Truman Show or The Sixth Sense for the very first time? The feeling that you had experienced something unique? It's the exact same sensation Severance gave me. It's odd, it's smart, it's fresh and I loved every single minute of it. It's the best writing and acting I have seen in years.
Every episode makes you hungry for the next one, and the next one, and... well, you get the point. All I can say is, stop scrolling through these reviews and go watch it, because you're in for a treat.

I can't remember the last time I was so invested in a TV show. I was hooked from the first episode, and constantly impressed with the directing, visuals, acting, and plot developments. It's like a cross between Black Mirror and 1984, but it might be better than both of those works of art. This is truly something special and I COULD NOT be more excited for season 2.
How I would love to go home after work and not remember a damn thing! If that was the case, work attendance would be at an all time high. With no stress or anxiousness about work, you'll just show up, because that's what you are paid to do. But that's the pros, as for the cons...
Without giving away too much, the first 2 episodes achieve putting the viewer into the mind frame of the characters who take on the bizarre act of Severance for a large secretive corporation. The viewer is then given enough interest and mystery to latch onto with a drip-feed of vital information in this beauty of a slow-burner. Overall it is an Orwellian-Kafkaesque mind teaser with a hint of Beckett's Godot dialogue. The perfect ingredient for a modern trippy journey into the unknown corporate dystopian...
