1 star is being generous. I could make a better movie with iMovie. You really have to try to be this bad. I couldn't have imagined a worst attempt at a movie before seeing this. The fact the description states " Braveheart meets Gods and Generals" must mean this is a joke. I couldn't make it more than a min of this. I'd rather watch paint dry. I'd rather read a bad book. At least I could picture something better than this in my head. 1 star is being generous. I could make a better movie with iMovie. You really have to try to be this bad. Dear god...
Hopefully I can spare any other people the dull headache this "movie" is. Wooden acting, inappropriate music choices, dialogue so unnatural George Lucas would object.
This project didn't even hit the basics of camera work: the operator kept auto exposure on, leaving faces underexposed because of a bright spot in the frame. He often didn't bother to use critical focus, resulting in an actor's eyes appearing blurry while his ear remained crystal clear. It earned a single star because at least some of the time whoever was in charge of sound design at least used the correct mic and you could mostly hear the actors. Mostly.
This dreck could have been an examination of Forrest's astonishing rise from private to general and his revolutionary cavalry tactics, or his heinous role in the Fort Pillow Massacre, or his leadership in the early Klan, or even his puzzling turn toward peace between black and white. No. Instead we get a cure for insomnia.
Avoid at all costs. In the immortal words of Mad Magazine, "Blecch."

I had to watch the first 10 minutes to see if it might just get better. But it didn't. The acting was as wooden as the trees. the music choice was a complete mystery. I have to say I have seen school plays that had a higher standard of acting.
I felt embarrassed for those taking part.
Do not even both with this trash. A high school media project would be more entertaining and a better production. Just 3 minutes into this is enough to show what a horrible production this is. Not a single positive thing I can say about this pile of garbage.
...but not deliberately The direction, script, production are all utterly abysmal but still far better than the acting. Some scenes even had the voice appearing to be dubbed over. One scene where Forrest was being recruited had the recruitment officer stumbling over his lines and seemingly reading them.
Avoid like the plague. Even a school play has more merit than this.
- Why did they even bother releasing this poor attempt of a movie?
