I had to watch the first 10 minutes to see if it might just get better. But it didn't. The acting was as wooden as the trees. the music choice was a complete mystery. I have to say I have seen school plays that had a higher standard of acting.
I felt embarrassed for those taking part.
A tempting topic that proposes to cover a notorious individual and a brutal portion of history. But at the first moment of dialogue the bubble of potential is brutally burst by a sequence of dreadfully wooden acting. You'd think that perhaps this is an attempt to ironically introduce Forrest's origin backstory as a sort of ridiculous made up fable. But this drivel is not in fact a clever device but the pinnacle of the directors ambition for the rest of the film! It's as if the actors are blind reading the script on a first take. The other discomfort is that it appears to be shot at a 30fps more common of TV format instead of the more romantic and usual 24/25fps used for film. Just watch it to learn how not to make a film. Believe me when I warn that it doesn't improve from the first minute in.
This is the worst film I have seen. I don't know where to start. Everyone and everything were awful. Was this meant to be a comedy? I really don't quite know.
That's really all you need to know about the historical accuracy. Worst thing I have ever seen.
