    It's winding down really slowly

Good comedy shows give you subtle ends to tie. Sometimes on your own . Also it normally leaves it until the last couple of episodes of the final series. Modern family is doing this excruciatingly long. The loose ends feel so long and the tying up is going to be a real let down. Modern Family was a fantastic comedy. But as usual it gets too big and becomes lazy. Save one or two episodes, this season has been so poor. Such a shame.

It was very relevant. Everyone's Thanksgiving and Holidays going it this mini crazy way.

    Sadly it's the last Thanksgiving

Some people here seem to have it in their heads that 'Modern Family' was rubbish from about S5 onwards, but for me while the episodes ranged in quality, there was still an awful lot to like about it in the second half of its run.

This is a fine example. Lots of lovely moments, just the right amount of sentiment, this was great fun.

    Hit me with some nostalgia

This episode sure has its moments. Loved the flashback to a classic Jay and Phil moment and I'm happy they returned to that plot line with Dylan this time (it took a laugh out loud twist though). I thought it was funny that Mitchell and Cameron's friends misunderstand something Mitchell says but Cameron is such a whiny hypocrite but that's classic Cam so I'm used to it. Gloria is manipulating Claire all day to do chores after Claire feels the need to be busy (I thought this bit had some funny subtle moments with facial expressions and body movements). I liked that Haley is doing her best at making thanksgiving dinner because her mom has been great helping out with the twins. It was funny to see the dinner turn into a disaster. I liked the sideline story involving joe reminding Claire and Mitchell that they are siblings.

Overall a good thanksgiving episode and it touches upon the love and protection a father feels for their daughters.

    Glad this show is ending

Wow...everything and everyone is super annoying in this episode...except Mitch and Cam. They were funny.

    • Trivia
Claire makes a joke about Gloria doing her own laundry, saying that she is using the laundry basket to hide a pregnancy. In the Pilot episode of Modern Family, Julie Bowen was pregnant with twins and often used a laundry basket to cover up her own pregnancy in that episode.
    • Goofs
When Phil flies the plane into his head the camera cuts to Dylan who is holding the hoop above his head and he lowers it to the ground. When the camera goes back to a wide shot of Phil, Jay and Dylan he is seen to still have it above his head and drops it down again.

Ronaldo: Will I see you guys at the party?

Mitchell Pritchett: Oh, unfortunately no. Uh, this day has turned into something of a nightmare.

      Ronaldo: Oh. Where's Cam?

Mitchell Pritchett: [Referring to their chores] We just split up. We just needed so many different things, it was easier to separate. So, anyway, Happy Thanksgiving. Tell everyone I said hi.

      [Hurries away]

Ronaldo: [Pulls out his phone] Super sad news. Guess who just broke up? Hint: you owe me $50.
