Julia Schlaepfer is a young, up-and-coming actress to watch, and she's already been in some great movies and shows. Born in Washington, she pursued her dream of acting with passion, eventually honing her skills at the Atlantic Acting School in New York. Though she started out in smaller roles on shows like Madam Secretary and Instinct, her natural charisma and emotional depth made her stand out even in those early performances, and it wasnt long before she got her big break.
In 2019, Schlaepfer turned heads when she appeared as Payton Hobart's ambitious girlfriend, Alice Charles, in Netfix's The Politician. The actress' career has continued to grow, and in 2022, she joined the cast of the Paramount+ Yellowstone prequel series, 1923, as Alexandra, Spencer Dutton's love interest. With the exciting announcement that 1923 is getting a second season, Schlaepfer's career continues to grow.

“I am a mother of young kids but, boy, I hope I’m a very different kind of mother than Eva,” says Danish star Birgitte Hjort Sørensen about her character in the Danish psychological drama “Dark Horse,” showcased this week in Canneseries’ official competition.
The story about a mother-daughter toxic relationship, set against the backdrop of addiction, turns on 17-year-old Anna and her mother Eva who move back to Eva’s small provincial Danish town from Shanghai. Their abrupt arrival at Eva’s brother, who runs a veterinarian surgery, is awkward for everyone, as Eva has been silent for years, busy dragging her daughter around the world, in her restless pursuit of new adventures and relationships.
Soon, the unhealthy co-dependent and toxic relationship between Anna and the pill-popper Eva emerges. In an urge to fit in with her school friends and break free from her dominating mother, Anna takes risks.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for “The Crown” Season 6, streaming on Netflix now.
The final episodes of “The Crown” have dropped and, as Netflix boss Ted Sarandos pointed out at the premiere of Season 5, that means Google searches will be going up, since many fans like to fact-check scenes from Peter Morgan’s royal drama while they watch.
“This is the story of Queen Elizabeth. This is the story of the royal family. Peter has told and dramatised these stories, some very memorable, some forgotten, judging by the Google activity that happens every time we drop a new season,” said Sarandos at the premiere last November.
Annie Sulzberger, who is head of research on the show, said that if fans spot discrepancies between real events and those on “The Crown,” those are intentional. “This is a drama, and dramatists have to look at history differently,” she told Variety. “These are not inaccuracies.

In The Crown Season 6, the show takes creative liberties with Princess Diana's story to indirectly insult Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The show's timeline will end in 2004, meaning it won't cover Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's romance. The self-referential jabs in season 6, such as the insult to Prince Harry, could be problematic if the show continued into modern-day history.
The Crown might not reach the present day to include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but it seems like Netflix has its own way of insulting them in season 6 with the help of Princess Diana's story. The popular drama, which is based on historical events, is heavily fictionalized and has reached one of the most expected moments in the series: Princess Diana's final moments and her death. However, that includes taking a lot of creative freedom and some hints at current events.

Oliver Stone said Friday he was shocked to hear that the stars of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer had walked out of its London premiere the day before as SAG-AFTRA officially declared strike action.
“I know several producers are opening movies, like Oppenheimer. Chuck Roven, he was in London. I heard it was going to be cancelled,” said Stone, when asked for his view on the strike.
“I don’t know if it went ahead but all the actors left. That was shocking that they really meant business and cut off right away all the promotion, which is big.”
Commenting on the ongoing 11-week WGA strike, Stone suggested the roots of the current industrial action lie in the deal brokered to end the five-month writers strike in 1988.
“There was a basic miscarriage of justice way back when, when Brian Walton was the head of the WGA, when we gave in. I...
