Probably the most self-aware media I've ever consumed, hell self-awareness is straight up a motif here, Stanley has no choice, except for a couple of endings the rest is all predetermined and sometimes where you restart the narrator just tells you to go ahead and skips the formalities reinforcing the theme of self-awareness.
If you listen to the narrator and do as he says you get the "freedom" ending which is ironically named because you get the ending by making no choices of your own accord.
If you listen to nothing the narrator tells you, you could get a bunch of different endings, pretty much none of which end up with you as a free person.
Here's a warning because I will be getting into spoilers!
The coworkers disappeared because the narrator made them vanish.
The story line with the mind control facility isn't real as the narrator says in one of the endings that if Stanley had picked the left door he would have uncovered a whole conspiracy and had seen yellow adventure lines and all of that so the only endings that are truly your choice are the one where you unplug the green phone and the one where you go to the memory zone and see the reviews for The Stanley Parable 2013.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is a really funny meta game where it's just you and a narrator going around and doing things that change the story. But this time consoles can play it with new content that changes how we play the game. You will need to complete some of the original game endings though before you unlock the new content but that doesn't matter. The comedy of this game makes it way better than it should with you both listening and not listening to the narrator and he just has to deal with your antics with no true way to stop it. If you haven't played this game yet then go and do it it's really good.

It is The Stanley Parable that you remember, but now it ultra deluxe. You can play it on your PS5. Is a fun and new adventure for you and your family.
Ultra deluxe gives a good excuse to just go back to the game and have fun again. If you played it when it came out, then the ten years should have softened your memory enough, so that jokes would land again and metacommentary is working again.
And the new deluxe staff is fun and just very nice to get more of the stanley parable. It is just a nice package that hits hard and I love the Bucket.
Has it fixed any of the problem from original?, no you still wish there was a skip button when you're trying the same road again, but just waiting to try a new choice.
And the dialogue can be unbearably long and they are Conscious of it. But it is the charm of it, so it can't be change without losing the soul.
And if you're trying to get the trophies/achievement then you're gonna have fun, you will have to earn these, it is memorable.
It will put a smile on your face. It is excellently written and has a very nice narration that is also your antagonist. A nice experience all around.
