"Fascinating Womanhood" is a real book, by Helen Berry Andelin, published in 1963. It has been the subject of controversy, but despite this, has been reprinted multiple times since the first self-published run, as of 2024 it is into its 6th edition. Although many women share Barnes's view of the book, there are many others who see nothing wrong with a woman being happy as a mother and homemaker. Helen was herself an author (obviously) and an artist so she doesn't limit women to the role of homemaker.

The book began as a few pamphlets, which Helen was given by a friend and adapted into a lifestyle, which she taught others, then eventually wrote her book to give advice to a wider audience, specifically tailored for married women. The first run of Helen's book was published by her husband, it was just 5,000 copies, which the couple sold out of their garage. Now over 2,000,000 copies have been sold, and Fascinating Womanhood is an institution run by Helen's daughters and former students. There are social media pages, classes and teaching programs, and an updated version of the book called Fascinating Womanhood for the Timeless Woman.

Fascinating Womanhood isn't from the 70's. It was first published in 1963 and would have said that on the cover, and the cover page.
