If you enjoyed "Seven Psychopaths", "Fargo" or "Flickering Lights" then this movie is for you.
Beautiful cinematography with a cast of inept policemen and bumbling crooks.
Ok, there are a few "Eh?" moments but by and large it's a study of human behaviour and the challenges of life set against a bleak Scandinavian landscape.
Worth a look.

I don't speak the language (like many, I presume), so I hesitated with Wild Men, fearing I'd spend the whole film reading subtitles, which usually means missing out on the acting, facial expressions, and other visual details. Here, however, I really felt that it was all working beautifully, undoubtedly thanks to a well paced script and editing. I had a great time and despite the farcical nature of a few of the scenes (some of which are truly hilarious), the underlying stories of the protagonists are much deeper than you'd expect from the trailer. In hindsight, I think a strength of this film is that it knits a story that uses original aspects of the region (and not only the stunning nature and folklore but also how people interact with each other) while at the same time exploring universal themes that, to me at least, made it not only enjoyable but also deeply contemplative at times. I'll definitely watch it again!
Extremely well made movie!

- Funny and well written dialogue.
- Emotionel and comedic acting from all the actors.
- Beautiful cinematography.

Absolutely loved this movie, beautifully shot with some stunning scenery and a story that rolls along and keeps you interested throughout. Although Martin, the main protagonist, is a bit of a giant loser it seems, the film takes him very seriously and his adventures with Musa who he meets by accident (literally) feel entirely within the boundaries of possibility.
It makes you laugh a lot as well as making you wince, the performances are uniformly good and it develops a real Fargo-like feel but without any homage or aping of that production. Even the chocolate box ending made sense in light of everything that goes before it and I came out of the cinema smiling, which is nice in these difficult times.

Just not that funny, and all a bit to "over the top".
It was way to stereotype, apart from the nature shots, I just simply didn't feel it.
Everything what was supposed to wrong, went wrong.
The acting wasn't superb, and the story itself wasn't something which attracted me.

- TriviaThe Danish release was delayed after the incident in Norway on 13 October 2021 in which a Danish national shot and killed several people with arrows after an altercation in a grocery store. The film is about a Danish man in Norway, and the poster showed him standing in a grocery store with a bow and arrows on his back.
