After an interesting — though lackluster overall — fall season of new broadcast TV, networks are set to unleash their midseason series.

What’s worth watching in that new crop of comedies and dramas? The sad truth: not much.

Luckily, I’m here to talk you through the best and the worst series that are poised to appear on your tube in the coming months — your DVR can only hold so much. Here’s your guide to what you should check out and those shows you should ignore:

Most Promising

1. The CW’s The Carrie Diaries (Premiere: Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. Est/5 p.m. Pst)

"Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde": Violent Flashes and Mementos
Anchor Bay Entertainment's release of the TV movie "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", is now available on DVD :

"...'Dr. Henry Jekyll' (Dougray Scott) is on the verge of a medical breakthrough. Experiments in his basement laboratory on a rare Amazonian flower lead to the discovery that the soul can be separated giving life to a man’s dark side. But when a series of crimes ravage the city, Jekyll suspects his alter ego may be responsible. He remembers nothing of his nights but awakens with violent flashes and mementos of the mysterious 'Dr. Edward Hyde'.
